Inspection Procedure

  1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (PATTERN SELECT SWITCH - BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the connector of pattern select switch.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in PATTERN SELECT SWITCH - BODY GROUND .

      Standard: 

      PATTERN SELECT SWITCH - BODY GROUND

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      4 - Body ground Below 1.0 ohms

    1. NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (SEE  ELECTRONIC CIRCUIT INSPECTION PROCEDURE  ) 
    2. OK: Go to next step. 
  2. INSPECT PATTERN SELECT SWITCH ASSY 
    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in PATTERN SELECT SWITCH ASSY .

      Standard: 

      PATTERN SELECT SWITCH ASSY

      Switch Condition Tester Connection Specified Condition
      Press continuously Pattern select switch (2nd STRT) 3-4 Below 1.0 ohms
      Release Pattern select switch (2nd STRT) 10 k ohms or higher

    1. NG: REPLACE PATTERN SELECT SWITCH ASSY 
    2. OK: Go to next step. 
  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (PATTERN SELECT SWITCH - ECM) 
    1. Connect the connector of pattern select switch.
    2. Disconnect the ECM connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in PATTERN SELECT SWITCH - ECM .

      Standard: 

      PATTERN SELECT SWITCH - ECM

      Switch Condition Tester Connection Specified Condition
      Press continuously Pattern select switch (2nd STRT) E8 - 27 (SNWI) - Body ground Below 1.0 ohms
      Release Pattern select switch (2nd STRT) 10 k ohms or higher

    1. NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (SEE  ELECTRONIC CIRCUIT INSPECTION PROCEDURE  ) 
    2. OK: PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN ON PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE (SEE  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE   )
