Inspection Procedure

  1. CHECK CAN BUS LINE FOR DISCONNECTION (ECM SUB BUS LINE)

    1. Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.
    2. Disconnect the ECM connector (E3).
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below.

    Standard: 

    ECM CONNECTOR TERMINALS RESISTANCE

    Tester connection Condition Specified value
    E3-25 (CANH) - E3-24 (CANL) Ignition Switch OFF 54 to 69 Ω

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE ECM SUB BUS LINE OR CONNECTOR (CAN-H, CAN-L) 

    OK: GO TO NEXT STEP 

  2. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (+B1, +B, E1)

    1. Disconnect the ECM connector (E6).
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below.
    3. Measure the voltage according to the value (s) in the table below.

    Standard: 

    ECM CONNECTOR TERMINALS RESISTANCE AND VOLTAGE

    Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
    E6-7 (E1) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
    E3-5 (+B1) - Body ground Ignition Switch ON 10 to 14 V
    E3-6 (+B) - Body ground Ignition Switch ON 10 to 14 V

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE WIRE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: REPLACE ECM (SEE  REPLACEMENT  )
