Inspection Procedure
- CHECK WIRE HARNESS (ROOM OSCILLATOR (FRONT, REAR) - BATTERY AND BODY GROUND)
- Disconnect the R28 and R41 oscillator connectors.
- Measure the voltage and resistance of the wire harness side connectors.
Standard:
TESTER CONNECTION AND SPECIFIED CONDITIONTester Connection Specified Condition R28-5 (GND) - Body ground Below 1 Ω R28-1 (+B) - Body ground 10 to 14 V TESTER CONNECTION AND SPECIFIED CONDITIONTester Connection Specified Condition R41-3 (GND) - Body ground Below 1 Ω R41-5 (B) - Body ground 10 to 14 V NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR
OK: GO TO NEXT STEP
- PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING HAND-HELD TESTER
- Connect the hand-held tester (with CAN VIM) to the DLC3.
- Turn the ignition switch ON and press the hand-held tester main switch ON.
- Select the item below in the ACTIVE TEST and then check that the oscillator operates.
THEFT WARNING ECU REFERENCEItem Test Details Diagnostic Note FR TRANSMITTER Fr Transmitter ON/OFF - RR TRANSMITTER Rr Transmitter ON/OFF - OK: When the smart key is brought close to a room oscillator that is ON, the indicator on the smart key illuminates.
NG: Go to step 3
OK: PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN ON PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
- CHECK WIRE HARNESS (THEFT WARNING ECU ASSY - ROOM OSCILLATOR (FRONT AND REAR))
- Disconnect the T5 ECU connector.
- Disconnect the R28 room oscillator front connector.
- Disconnect the R41 room oscillator rear connector.
- Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.
Standard:
TESTER CONNECTION AND SPECIFIED CONDITIONTester Connection Specified Condition T5-18 (CLG5) - R28-3 (CLG3) Below 1 Ω T5-18 (CLG5) or R28-3 (CLG3) - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher TESTER CONNECTION AND SPECIFIED CONDITIONTester Connection Specified Condition T5-38 (CLG7) - R41-4 (CLG4) Below 1 Ω T5-38 (CLG7) or R41-4 (CLG4) - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher Courtesy of © TOYOTA, LICENSE AGREEMENT TMS1002
