Retainer, Headlamp Protector: Replacement

  1. REMOVE ENGINE UNDER COVER NO.1 (See  REPLACEMENT  ) 
  2. REMOVE FRONT FENDER SPLASH SHIELD SUB-ASSY RH (See  REPLACEMENT  ) 
  3. REMOVE FRONT FENDER SPLASH SHIELD SUB-ASSY LH (See  REPLACEMENT  ) 
  4. REMOVE FRONT BUMPER COVER (See  REPLACEMENT  ) 
  5. REMOVE LH HEADLAMP ASSY (See  OVERHAUL   ) 
  6. INSTALL HEADLAMP PROTECTOR RETAINER UPPER LH 

    HINT:

    To minimize damage to the headlight unit in case of a collision, the stays for the headlight unit have been constructed to break off. The stays are available as supply parts for low-cost repair.

    1. Cut off the part shaded in Fig 1 and sand smooth with sandpaper.
      NOTE: After cutting off the part, place the headlamp protector retainer upper LH against the bosses and gradually file any interfering part until proper condition for installation is met.

    2. Install the headlamp protector retainer upper LH with the 2 screws.

  7. INSTALL HEADLAMP PLATE LH 

    HINT:

    To minimize damage to the headlight unit in case of a collision, the stays for the headlight unit have been constructed to break off. The stays are available as supply parts for low-cost repair.

    1. Cut off the part shaded in Fig 3 and sand smooth with sandpaper.
      NOTE: After cutting off the part, place the headlamp plate LH against the bosses and gradually file any interfering part until proper condition for installation is met.

    2. Install the headlamp plate LH with the screw.

  8. INSTALL HEADLAMP PROTECTOR RETAINER LWR LH

    2. Install the headlamp protector retainer LWR LH with the screw.

  9. INSTALL HEADLAMP BRACKET LWR LH 

    HINT:

    To minimize damage to the headlight unit in case of a collision, the stays for the headlight unit have been constructed to break off. The stays are available as supply parts for low-cost repair.

    1. Cut off the part shaded in Fig 7 and sand smooth with sandpaper.
      NOTE: After cutting off the part, place the headlamp bracket LWR LH against the bosses and gradually file any interfering part until proper condition for installation is met.

    2. Install the headlamp bracket LWR LH with the 2 screws.
