Power Mirror Control System: Inspection

  1. INSPECT OUTER MIRROR SWITCH ASSY 

    W/O MEMORY SEAT: 

    1. Select "L" on the left/right adjustment switch: Check the switch resistance.

      Standard: 

      TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFICATION

      Tester Connection Switch Position Specified Condition
      4 - 8 UP Below 1 Ω
      6 - 7
      4 - 7 DOWN
      6 - 8
      5 - 8 LEFT
      6 - 7
      5 - 7 RIGHT
      6 - 8

      If the result is not as specified, replace the switch assy.

    2. Select "L" on the left/right adjustment switch:

    Check the switch resistance.

    Standard: 

    TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFICATION

    Tester Connection Switch Position Specified Condition
    3 - 8 UP Below 1 Ω
    6 - 7
    3 - 7 DOWN
    6 - 8
    2 - 8 LEFT
    6 - 7
    2 - 7 RIGHT
    6 - 8

    If the result is not as specified, replace the switch assy.

  2. INSPECT OUTER MIRROR SWITCH ASSY 

    W/ MEMORY SEAT: 

    1. Check the switch resistance.

      Standard: 

      TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFICATION

      Tester Connection Switch Position Specified Condition
      2 - 3 OFF 10 kΩ or higher
      UP 225 - 275 Ω
      DOWN 437 - 503 Ω
      LEFT 744 - 856 Ω
      RIGHT 437 - 503 Ω

      If the result is not as specified, replace the switch assy.

    2. Check the left/right adjustment switch resistance.

    Standard: 

    TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFICATION

    Tester Connection Switch Position Specified Condition
    1 - 2 L 90 - 110 Ω
    R 10 Ω or less

    If the result is not as specified, replace the switch assy.

  3. INSPECT SEAT MEMORY SWITCH 

    W/ MEMORY SEAT: 

    1. Check the switch resistance.

      Standard: 

      TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFICATION

      Tester Connection Switch Position Specified Condition
      3 - 4 SET Switch ON Below 1 Ω
      1 - 4 M1 Switch ON
      2 - 4 M2 Switch ON

    If the result is not as specified, replace the switch assy.

  4. INSPECT OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSY LH 

    W/ MEMORY SEAT: 

    1. Disconnect the mirror connector.
    2. Apply battery voltage and check operation of the mirror.

    Standard: 

    MEASUREMENT CONDITION OPERATION

    Measurement Condition Mirror Operation
    Battery positive (+) --> Terminal 1 (LMVR)
    Battery negative (-) --> Terminal 10 (LM+R)    		 Turns upward (A)
    Battery positive (+) --> Terminal 10 (LM+R)
    Battery negative (-) --> Terminal 1 (LMVR)    		 Turns downward (B)
    Battery positive (+) --> Terminal 10 (LM+R)
    Battery negative (-) --> Terminal 9 (LMHR)    		 Turns left (C)
    Battery positive (+) --> Terminal 9 (LMHR)
    Battery negative (-) --> Terminal 10 (LM+R)    		 Turns right (D)

    If the result is not as specified, replace the mirror assy.

  5. INSPECT OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSY LH 

    W/O MEMORY SEAT: 

    1. Disconnect the mirror connector.
    2. Apply battery voltage and check operation of the mirror.

    Standard: 

    MEASUREMENT CONDITION OPERATION

    Measurement Condition Mirror Operation
    Battery positive (+) --> Terminal 2 (MV)
    Battery negative (-) --> Terminal 6 (M+)    		 Turns upward (A)
    Battery positive (+) --> Terminal 6 (M+)
    Battery negative (-) --> Terminal 2 (MV)    		 Turns downward (B)
    Battery positive (+) --> Terminal 6 (M+)
    Battery negative (-) --> Terminal 1 (MH)    		 Turns left (C)
    Battery positive (+) --> Terminal 1 (MH
    Battery negative (-) --> Terminal 6 (M+)    		 Turns right (D)

    If the result is not as specified, replace the mirror assy.

  6. INSPECT OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSY RH 

    W/ MEMORY SEAT: 

    1. Disconnect the mirror connector.
    2. Apply battery voltage and check operation of the mirror.

    Standard: 

    MEASUREMENT CONDITION OPERATION

    Measurement Condition Mirror Operation
    Battery positive (+) --> Terminal 1 (RMVR)
    Battery negative (-) --> Terminal 10 (RM+R)    		 Turns upward (A)
    Battery positive (+) --> Terminal 10 (RM+R)
    Battery negative (-) --> Terminal 1 (RMVR)    		 Turns downward (B)
    Battery positive (+) --> Terminal 10 (RM+R)
    Battery negative (-) --> Terminal 9 (RMHR)    		 Turns right (D)
    Battery positive (+) --> Terminal 9 (RMHR)
    Battery negative (-) --> Terminal 10 (RM+R)    		 Turns left (C)

    If the result is not as specified, replace the mirror assy.

  7. INSPECT OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSY RH 

    W/O MEMORY SEAT: 

    1. Disconnect the mirror connector.
    2. Apply battery voltage and check operation of the mirror.

    Standard: 

    MEASUREMENT CONDITION OPERATION

    Battery positive (+) --> Terminal 2 (MV)
    Battery negative (-) --> Terminal 6 (M+)    		 Turns upward (A)
    Battery positive (+) --> Terminal 6 (M+)
    Battery negative (-) --> Terminal 2 (MV)    		 Turns downward (B)
    Battery positive (+) --> Terminal 6 (M+)
    Battery negative (-) --> Terminal 1 (MH)    		 Turns right (D)
    Battery positive (+) --> Terminal 1 (MH)
