Section 584 (Cooling System): Radiator: Removal

  1. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER 
  2. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT  (See ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION  )
  3. REMOVE BATTERY NEGATIVE TERMINAL 
  4. REMOVE V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY  (See REMOVAL )
  5. REMOVE COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL  (See REMOVAL )
  6. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CAP SUB-ASSEMBLY 
  7. REMOVE NO. 2 AIR CLEANER INLET  (See REMOVAL )
  8. REMOVE NO. 1 AIR CLEANER INLET  (See REMOVAL )
  9. DISCONNECT RADIATOR INLET HOSE 
    1. Disconnect the radiator inlet hose from the radiator assembly.
  10. DISCONNECT RADIATOR OUTLET HOSE 
    1. Disconnect the radiator outlet hose from the radiator assembly.
  11. DISCONNECT OIL COOLER INLET HOSE 
    1. Disconnect the oil cooler inlet hose from the radiator assembly.
  12. DISCONNECT OIL COOLER OUTLET HOSE 
    1. Disconnect the oil cooler outlet hose from the radiator assembly.
  13. DISCONNECT RADIATOR RESERVE TANK HOSE 
    1. Disconnect the radiator reserve tank hose from the radiator assembly.

  14. DISCONNECT NO. 2 WATER BY-PASS HOSE 
    1. Disconnect the water by-pass hose from the radiator assembly.

  15. REMOVE HOOD LOCK CONTROL CABLE COVER 
    1. Remove the 2 screws, 2 snap fits and the hood lock control cable cover.

  16. REMOVE HOOD LOCK ASSEMBLY

    1. Disconnect the connector.
    2. Using a screwdriver, remove the cap.
    3. Remove the 2 bolts and nut, and separate the hood lock assembly from the radiator support upper.

    4. Remove the hood lock control cable from the hood lock assembly.
  17. REMOVE RADIATOR SUPPORT SUB-ASSEMBLY UPPER 
    1. Disconnect the 2 horn connectors.

    2. Disconnect the 3 clamps and connector.

    3. Remove the 5 bolts and radiator support sub-assembly.

  18. REMOVE FAN SHROUD 
    1. Disconnect the clamp and fan motor connector.

    2. Remove the 4 bolts and fan shroud.

  19. REMOVE RADIATOR SUPPORT CUSHION 
    1. Remove the 2 radiator support cushions from the No. 1 radiator support.

  20. REMOVE NO. 1 RADIATOR SUPPORT 
    1. Remove the 4 bolts and No. 1 radiator support.

  21. REMOVE RADIATOR ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the 2 bolts and separate the condenser assembly from the radiator assembly.

    2. Remove the bolt and separate the bracket from the body.

    3. Remove the radiator assembly from the body.

  22. REMOVE RADIATOR SUPPORT LOWER 
    1. Remove the 2 radiator support lowers from the radiator assembly.

  23. REMOVE NO. 2 RADIATOR SUPPORT 
    1. Remove the 2 bolts and No. 2 radiator support from the radiator assembly.
