Inspection Procedure

  1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COMMUNICATION LINE)

    1. Disconnect the R13 rain sensor W4 ECU connectors.
    2. Check the resistance between the wire harness side connectors.

    Standard resistance 

    RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION

    Symbols (Terminal No.) Specified Condition
    MPX (R13-2) - MPX1 (W4-1) Below 1 Ω

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to Next step 

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (POWER SOURCE)

    1. Disconnect the R13 rain sensor connector.
    2. Check the voltage between the wire harness side connector and body ground.

    Standard voltage 

    VOLTAGE SPECIFICATION

    Symbols (Terminal No.) Specified Condition
    SIG (R13-1) - Body ground 10 to 14 V

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to Next step 

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (GROUND)

    1. Disconnect the R13 rain sensor connector.
    2. Check the resistance between the wire harness side connector and body ground.

    Standard resistance 

    RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION

    Symbols (Terminal No.) Specified Condition
    ES (R13-3) - Body ground Below 1 Ω

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: REPLACE RAIN SENSOR
