Inspection Procedure

- CHECK BACK-UP LIGHT
- Move the shift lever to the R position.
- Check the back-up light.
OK: The back-up light ON.
NG: GO TO LIGHTING SYSTEM
OK: Go to Next Step
- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (PARK/NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH - NAVIGATION ECU AND BATTERY)
- Disconnect the P1 switch connector.
- Disconnect the N8 ECU connector.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance
PARK/NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH - NAVIGATION ECU AND BATTERY RESISTANCETester Connection Condition Specified Condition P1-1 (RL) - N8-20 (REV) Always Below 1 Ω P1-1 (RL) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher - Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard voltage

NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK: Go to Next Step
- INSPECT PARK/NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH
- Disconnect the P1 switch connector.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance
PARK/NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCHTester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition P1-1 (RL) - P1-2 (RB) Shift lever in R position Below 1 Ω P1-1 (RL) - P1-2 (RB) Shift lever in P position 10 kΩ or higher NG: REPLACE PARK/NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH
