Shift Lever Assembly: Removal

  1. SEPARATE BATTERY NEGATIVE TERMINAL 
  2. REMOVE SHIFT LEVER KNOB SUB-ASSEMBLY

    1. Remove the shift lever knob sub-assembly.
  3. REMOVE FLOOR SHIFT LEVER KNOB SUB-ASSEMBLY

    1. Remove the floor shift lever knob sub-assembly.
  4. REMOVE NO. 1 CONSOLE UPPER PANEL GARNISH (See  REMOVAL  ) 
  5. REMOVE NO. 2 CONSOLE UPPER PANEL GARNISH (See  REMOVAL  ) 
  6. REMOVE UPPER CONSOLE PANEL ASSEMBLY (See  REMOVAL  ) 
  7. SEPARATE TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY

    1. Remove the clip and separate the transmission control cable assembly from the shift lever assembly.

      HINT:

      When the transmission control cable end is pressed, it can be removed from the floor shift lever.

      NOTE: The nut may be loosened (up to approx. 1 mm), however, never remove it.
  8. REMOVE FLOOR SHIFT ASSEMBLY

    1. Disconnect the connector.
    2. Remove the 4 bolts.
    3. Remove the transmission floor shift assembly.
