Transmission Control Cable: Removal

  1. SEPARATE BATTERY NEGATIVE TERMINAL 
  2. REMOVE SHIFT LEVER KNOB SUB-ASSEMBLY 
  3. REMOVE FLOOR SHIFT LEVER KNOB SUB-ASSEMBLY 
  4. REMOVE NO. 1 CONSOLE UPPER PANEL GARNISH (See  REMOVAL  ) 
  5. REMOVE NO. 2 CONSOLE UPPER PANEL GARNISH (See  REMOVAL  ) 
  6. REMOVE UPPER CONSOLE PANEL ASSEMBLY (See  REMOVAL  ) 
  7. SEPARATE TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY

    1. Remove the nut and clip, separate the transmission control cable assembly from the transmission control cable bracket.

    3. Remove clip, separate the transmission control cable assembly from the floor shift lever assembly.

      HINT:

      When the transmission control cable end is pressed, it can be removed from the floor shift lever.

      NOTE: The nut may be loosened (up to approx. 1 mm), however, never remove it.
  8. REMOVE TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the 4 nuts and pull out the transmission control cable assembly.
