Brake Actuator: Removal

  1. REMOVE COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL (See  REMOVAL  ) 
  2. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER LH (See  REMOVAL  ) 
  3. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER RH (See  REMOVAL  ) 
  4. REMOVE FRONT UPPER FENDER PROTECTOR LH (See  REMOVAL  ) 
  5. REMOVE FRONT UPPER FENDER PROTECTOR RH 

    HINT:

    Use the same procedures for the RH side and the LH side.

  6. REMOVE FRONT WIPER ARM HEAD CAP (See  REMOVAL  ) 
  7. REMOVE FRONT WIPER ARM AND BLADE ASSEMBLY LH (See  REMOVAL  ) 
  8. REMOVE FRONT WIPER ARM AND BLADE ASSEMBLY RH (See  REMOVAL  ) 
  9. REMOVE COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER SUBASSEMBLY (See  REMOVAL  ) 
  10. SEPARATE NO. 3 ENGINE ROOM RELAY BLOCK (See  REMOVAL  ) 
  11. REMOVE FRONT WHEEL 
  12. DRAIN BRAKE FLUID 
    NOTE: If brake fluid leaks onto any painted surface, wash or remove it completely.
  13. REMOVE BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER SUBASSEMBLY (See  REMOVAL  ) 
  14. REMOVE BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY WITH BRACKET 
    1. Release the lock lever and disconnect the actuator connector.
    2. Using SST, disconnect the 6 brake tubes from the brake actuator assembly with bracket.

    3. Use tags or make a memo to identify the places to reconnect.

      HINT:

      • *1: To Front Wheel Cylinder RH
      • *2: To Front Wheel Cylinder LH
      • *3: To Rear Wheel Cylinder RH
      • *4: To Rear Wheel Cylinder LH
      • *5: From Front Master Cylinder
      • *6: From Rear Master Cylinder

    4. Using SST, disconnect the No. 3 front brake tube from the flexible hose.

      SST 09023-00101 

    5. Separate the grommet and remove the No. 3 front brake tube.
      NOTE: Do not damage the brake tube.

    6. Remove the 2 bolts, nut and brake actuator assembly with bracket from the body.
    NOTE: Do not damage the brake tubes.

  15. REMOVE BRAKE ACTUATOR BRACKET ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the 2 nuts and the brake actuator from the actuator bracket assembly.
    2. Remove the brake actuator bolt cushion and actuator bracket.

  16. REMOVE BRAKE ACTUATOR BOLT CUSHION 
    1. Remove the 2 bolts and the 2 brake actuator bolt cushions from the brake actuator assembly.
