Lighting System: Inspection

  1. HEADLIGHT DIMMER SWITCH ASSY

    1. Inspect the light control switch continuity.
      1. Check that there is continuity between terminals at each switch position as shown in LIGHT CONTROL SWITCH CONTINUITY  .

        OFF - No continuity
        TAIL 14 - 16 Continuity
        HEAD 13 - 16 - 14 Continuity
        AUTO 16 - 12 Continuity
    2. Inspect the headlight dimmer switch continuity.
      1. Check that there is continuity between terminals at each switch position as shown in HEADLIGHT DIMMER SWITCH CONTINUITY  .

        FLASH 7 - 8 - 16 Continuity
        LOW BEAM 16 - 17 Continuity

    3. Inspect the turn signal switch continuity.
      1. Check that there is continuity between terminals at each switch position as shown in TURN SIGNAL SWITCH CONTINUITY  .

        Right turn 2 - 3 Continuity
        Neutral - No continuity
        Left turn 1 - 2 Continuity
    4. Inspect the front fog light switch continuity.
      1. Check that there is continuity between terminals at each switch position as shown in FRONT FOG LIGHT SWITCH CONTINUITY  .

  2. HAZARD WARNING SIGNAL SWITCH ASSY 
    1. Check that there is continuity between terminals at each switch position as shown in HAZARD WARNING SIGNAL SWITCH  .

    2. Inspect illumination operation.
      1. Connect the battery positive (+) lead to terminal 4 and the battery negative (-) lead to terminal 5, then check that the illumination lights up.
  3. FOG LIGHT RELAY 
    1. Inspect the relay continuity.

      Constant 1 - 2 Continuity
      Constant 3 - 5 No continuity
      Apply B+ between terminals 1 and 2. 3 - 5 Continuity

  4. ROOF CONSOLE BOX ASSY 
    1. Inspect the map light continuity.
      1. Check that there is continuity between terminals 1 and 5 when the switch is operated.

        Standard: 

        • ON: Continuity 
        • OFF: No continuity

  5. ROOM LIGHT ASSY NO. 1 
    1. Inspect the room light assy No. 1 continuity.
      1. Check that there is continuity between terminals at each switch position as shown in ROOM LIGHT ASSY NO. 1  .

        Standard: 

        ROOM LIGHT ASSY NO. 1

        OFF - No continuity
        DOOR 1 - 2 Continuity
        ON 1 - 3 Continuity

  6. ROOM LIGHT ASSY NO. 2 
    1. Inspect the room light assy No. 2 continuity.
      1. Check that there is continuity between terminals at each switch position as shown in ROOM LIGHT ASSY NO. 2  .

        Standard: 

        ROOM LIGHT ASSY NO. 2

        DOOR 1 - 2 Continuity

  7. COURTESY LIGHT ASSY 
    1. Inspect the courtesy light assy continuity.
      1. Check that there is continuity between terminals when the switch is operated.

        Standard: 

        • ON (When shaft is pressed): No continuity 
        • OFF (When shaft is not pressed): Continuity 
  8. GLOVE BOX LIGHT ASSY 
    1. Inspect the glove box light assy continuity.
      1. Check that there is continuity between terminals when the switch is operated.

        Standard: 

        • ON (When shaft is pressed): No continuity 
        • OFF (When shaft is not pressed): Continuity 
  9. LH STEP SUB-ASSY 
    1. Inspect the side step light assy.
      1. Check that there is continuity between terminals when the courtesy light switch is operated.

        Standard: 

        • ON: Continuity 
        • OFF: No continuity 
    2. Inspect the rear wheel light assy.
      1. Check that there is continuity between terminals when the courtesy light switch is operated.

        Standard: 

        • ON: Continuity 
        • OFF: No continuity 
  10. TAIL LIGHT RELAY 
    1. Inspect relay continuity.

      Standard: 

      TAIL LIGHT RELAY

      Condition Tester connection Specified condition
      Constant 1 - 2 Continuity
      Constant 3 - 5 No continuity
      Apply B+ between terminal 1 and 2 3 - 5 Continuity

  12. STOP LIGHT SWITCH ASSY 
    1. Check that the continuity between terminals at each switch position, as shown in STOP LIGHT SWITCH   .

      Standard:
