Inspection Procedure

  1. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (STEREO COMPONENT AMPLIFIER ASSY - COMBINATION METER ASSY) 
    1. Disconnect the S23 amplifier connector.
    2. Disconnect the C8 meter connector.
    3. Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.

      Standard: 

      STEREO COMPONENT AMPLIFIER ASSY - COMBINATION METER ASSY RESISTANCE

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      S23-13 (SPD) - C8-19 (+S) Below 1 ohms
      S23-13 (SPD) - Body ground 10 k ohms or higher

    1. NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR 
    2. OK: Go to next step. 
  2. CHECK COMBINATION METER ASSY (+S VOLTAGE) 
    1. Jack up either of the rear wheels.
    2. Move the shift lever to N.
    3. Measure the voltage of the meter connectors.

      Standard: 

      COMBINATION METER ASSY (+S VOLTAGE)

      Tester Connection Condition Specification
      C8-19 (+S) - Body ground Ignition switch ON and turn rear wheel Voltage is pulsed

    1. NG: Go to COMBINATION METER SYSTEM (See  PRECAUTION  ) 
    2. OK: PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
