Inspection Procedure

  1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING INTELLIGENT TESTER 
    1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG) and turn the intelligent tester main switch on.
    3. Select the item below in the ACTIVE TEST and then check that the relay operates.

      MAIN BODY (MAIN BODY ECU): 

      DATA LIST

      Tester Display Test Part Control Range Diagnostic Note
      HEAD LIGHT Headlight relay ON / OFF -

      OK: Headlight relays operate. (Low beam headlights illuminate.) 

    OK: PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE 

    NG: Go to next step. 

  2. INSPECT ENGINE ROOM JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the H-LP (RL) fuse and H-LP (LL) fuse from the engine room junction block assembly.
    2. Measure the voltage between the loading slot of each fuse and body ground.

      Standard voltage 

      TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      H-LP (RL) Terminal - Body ground Light control switch in HEAD 10 to 14 V
      H-LP (LL) Terminal - Body ground Light control switch in HEAD 10 to 14 V

    OK: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (FUSE - BODY GROUND) 

    NG: Go to next step. 

  3. INSPECT INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY 
    1. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard voltage 

      TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      DD-3 (HRLY) - Body ground Light control switch OFF → HEAD 10 to 14 V → Below 1 V

    OK: REPLACE ENGINE ROOM JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY 

    NG: Go to next step. 

  4. INSPECT INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disconnect the DD instrument panel junction block assembly connector.
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard voltage 

      TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      DD-3 (HRLY) - Body ground Always 10 to 14 V

    OK: REPLACE INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY 

    NG: Go to next step. 

  5. INSPECT ENGINE ROOM JUNCTION BLOCK LOCK ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disconnect the 1D engine room J/B assembly connector.
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard voltage 

      TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      1D-9 - Body ground Always 10 to 14 V

    OK: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (ENGINE ROOM J/B ASSEMBLY - INSTRUMENT PANEL J/B ASSEMBLY) 

    NG: Go to next step. 

  6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (BATTERY - ENGINE ROOM J/B ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the 1G engine room junction block assembly connector.
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard voltage 

      TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Tester Connector Condition Specified Condition
      1G-1 - Body ground Always 10 to 14 V

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: REPLACE ENGINE ROOM JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY
