Steering Pad Switch: Removal

  1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.
  2. REMOVE NO. 2 STEERING WHEEL COVER LOWER (See  REMOVAL  ) 
  3. REMOVE NO. 3 STEERING WHEEL COVER LOWER (See  REMOVAL  ) 
  4. REMOVE STEERING WHEEL PAD (See  INSTALLATION  ) 
  5. REMOVE STEERING PAD SWITCH LH 
    1. Disconnect the connectors.
    2. Remove the screw.
    3. Detach the clip and 2 claws and remove the switch.

    4. Disconnect the steering pad switch cable's tab from the switch, as shown in the illustration.

    5. Detach the 2 claws and raise the connector cover.

    6. Hold the connector cover and disconnect the switch from the steering pad switch cable.
      NOTE: When disconnecting the switch, do not pull the switch's wire harness.

  6. REMOVE STEERING PAD SWITCH RH 
    1. Remove the screw.
    2. Detach the clip and 2 claws and remove the switch.

    3. Disconnect the steering pad switch cable's tab from the switch, as shown in the illustration.

    4. Detach the 2 claws and raise the connector cover.

    5. Hold the connector cover and disconnect the switch from the steering pad switch cable.

      NOTE: When disconnecting the switch, do not pull the switch's wire harness.
