Charging (2GR-FSE): Generator: Installation

  1. INSTALL GENERATOR ASSEMBLY 
    1. Install the generator with the 2 bolts.

      Torque: 43 N*m (438 kgf*cm, 32 ft.*lbf)

    2. Install the bracket with the bolt and nut.

      Torque: 20 N*m (204 kgf*cm, 15 ft.*lbf)

    3. Install the battery cable with the nut.

      Torque: 9.8 N*m (100 kgf*cm, 87 in.*lbf) 

    4. Install the bracket of the wire harness to the generator with the bolt.
    5. Attach the clamp of the wire harness to the generator.

    6. Connect the cable to the generator, and then attach the rubber cap.
  2. INSTALL COMPRESSOR ASSEMBLY 
    1. Install the compressor with pulley for 2WD (see INSPECTION ) or 4WD (see INSPECTION ).
  3. INSTALL NO. 2 IDLER PULLEY SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Install the idler pulley and pulley cover plate with the bolt.

      Torque: 43 N*m (438 kgf*cm, 32 ft.*lbf) 

  4. INSTALL V-RIBBED BELT (See  INSTALLATION  ) 
  5. INSTALL RADIATOR RESERVOIR ASSEMBLY (See  INSTALLATION  ) 
  6. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
  7. ADD ENGINE COOLANT (See  REPLACEMENT  ) 
  8. INSPECT FOR COOLANT LEAK (See  COOLING SYSTEM  ) 
  9. CHARGE REFRIGERANT (See  REPLACEMENT  ) 
  10. INSTALL NO. 1 AIR CLEANER INLET (See  INSTALLATION  ) 
  11. WARM UP ENGINE (See  REPLACEMENT  ) 
  12. CHECK FOR LEAKAGE OF REFRIGERANT (See  REPLACEMENT  ) 
  13. INSTALL V-BANK COVER (See  INSTALLATION  ) 
  14. INSTALL ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER RH (See  INSTALLATION  ) 
  15. INSTALL ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER LH (See  INSTALLATION  ) 
  16. INSTALL COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL (See  INSTALLATION  ) 
  17. INSTALL ENGINE UNDER COVER (for 4WD) 
  18. INSTALL ENGINE UNDER COVER (for 2WD) 
  19. PERFORM INITIALIZATION 
    1. Perform initialization (see INITIALIZATION ).
      NOTE: Certain systems need to be initialized after disconnecting and reconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
