Inspection Procedure

  1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST BY INTELLIGENT TESTER 
    1. Select the ACTIVE TEST, use the intelligent tester to generate a control command, and then check that the room light illuminates.

      Cowl side junction block ECU LH

      SHIFT LIGHT CTL Shift light operation ON / OFF -

      OK: 

      Shift light illuminates. 

    NG: Go to step 2 

    OK: PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE 

  2. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (COWL SIDE JUNCTION BLOCK ECU LH - MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the V1 junction block connector.
    2. Disconnect the W6 map light assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.

      Standard resistance 

      RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      V1-3 (RCTY) - W6-27 (SHFT) Below 1 Ω
      V1-2 (ILE) - W6-30 (CTY) Below 1 Ω
      V1-3 (RCTY) or W6-27 (SHFT) - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher
      V1-2 (ILE) or W6-30 (CTY) - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  3. INSPECT FUSE (DOME, D/C CUT) 
    1. Remove the DOME fuse and D/C CUT fuse from the engine room No. 1 relay block.
    2. Measure the resistance of the fuses.

      Standard resistance: 

      Below 1 Ω 

    NG: REPLACE FUSE 

    OK: Go to next step 

  4. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY - BATTERY) 
    1. Disconnect the W6 map light assembly connector.
    2. Measure the voltage of the wire harness side connector.

      Standard voltage 

      VOLTAGE SPECIFICATION

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      W6-1 (+B1) - Body ground 10 to 14 V

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  5. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY - BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the W6 map light assembly connector.
    2. Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connector.

      Standard resistance 

      RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      W6-31 (GND3) - Body ground Below 1 Ω

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  6. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY - MAP LIGHT)

    1. Disconnect the W6 map light assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the W11 map light connector.
    3. Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.

    Standard resistance 

    RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION

    Tester Connection Specified Condition
    W6-32 (RGND) - W11-6 (RGND) Below 1 Ω
    W6-8 (RLSW) - W11-4 (RLSW) Below 1 Ω
    W6-25 (RRSW) - W11-1 (RRSW) Below 1 Ω
    W6-7 (RLMP) - W11-3 (RLMP) Below 1 Ω
    W6-24 (RRMP) -W11-2 (RRMP) Below 1 Ω
    W6-23 (RILL) - W11-7 (RILL) Below 1 Ω
    W6-22 (DLL) - W11-8 (LILL) Below 1 Ω
    W6-6 (ILLB) - W11-5 (ILLB) Below 1 Ω
    W6-32 (RGND) or W11-6 (RGND) - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher
    W6-8 (RLSW) or W11-4 (RLSW) - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher
    W6-25 (RRSW) or W11-1 (RRSW) - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher
    W6-7 (RLMP) or W11-3 (RLMP) - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher
    W6-24 (RRMP) or W11-2 (RRMP) - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher
    W6-23 (RILL) or W11-7 (RILL) - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher
    W6-22 (LILL) or W11-8 (LILL) - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher
    W6-6 (ILLB) or W11-5 (ILLB) - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  7. REPLACE MAP LIGHT 
    1. Temporarily replace the map light with a new or normally functioning one.
    2. Check that the light illuminates.

      OK: 

      Map light illuminates. 

    OK: END 

    NG: PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
