How To Proceed With Troubleshooting

HINT:

  1. VEHICLE BROUGHT TO WORKSHOP 
  2. INSPECT BATTERY VOLTAGE 

    Standard voltage: 

    11 to 14 V 

    If the voltage is below 11 V, recharge or replace the battery before proceeding.

  3. START HYBRID CONTROL SYSTEM 

    Result:

    Result Proceed to
    Power switch cannot be turned ON (ACC) or hybrid control system can be started A
    Power switch can be turned ON (ACC) and hybrid control system cannot be started B

    B:  GO TO HYBRID CONTROL SYSTEM

  4. INSPECT COMMUNICATION FUNCTION OF MULTIPLEX COMMUNICATION SYSTEM (BEAN)* 
    1. Using the intelligent tester, check if the Multiplex Communication System (MPX) is functioning normally (see DTC CHECK / CLEAR  ).

      Result:

      Result Proceed to
      MPX DTC is not output A
      MPX DTC is output B

    B: GO TO MULTIPLEX COMMUNICATION SECTION 

    A: GO TO Next Step 

  5. CHECK FOR DTC* 
    1. Check for DTCs and note any codes that are output (see DTC CHECK / CLEAR  ).
    2. Delete the DTC.
    3. Recheck for DTCs. Based on the DTCs output above, try to force output of the same hybrid control system DTC or engine immobiliser system DTC by simulating the symptoms indicated by the DTC.
