Steering Knuckle: Installation

HINT:

CAUTION: When the brake caliper is removed from the brake disc, do not start the hybrid system. If the hybrid system is started, the brake fluid pressure may increase.
  1. TURN POWER SWITCH OFF 
    1. Turn the power switch OFF, and check that the "READY" indicator turns off.
  2. INSTALL STEERING KNUCKLE LH 
    1. Install the steering knuckle to the upper suspension arm with a castle nut and new clip.

      Torque: 87 N*m (887 kgf*cm, 64 ft.*lbf) 

      NOTE: If the holes for the clip are not aligned, tighten the nut within an additional 60°.

  3. INSTALL FRONT LOWER BALL JOINT ASSEMBLY LH 
    1. Install the steering knuckle to the lower ball joint with the 2 bolts.

      Torque: 120 N*m (1220 kgf*cm, 89 ft.*lbf)

  4. INSTALL FRONT AXLE HUB SUB-ASSEMBLY LH (See  INSTALLATION   ) 
  5. INSTALL FRONT DISC  (See REASSEMBLY )
  6. CONNECT FRONT DISC BRAKE CALIPER ASSEMBLY LH (See  INSTALLATION   ) 
  7. CONNECT FRONT SPEED SENSOR CONNECTOR LH (See  INSTALLATION   ) 
  8. INSTALL FRONT WHEEL 

    Torque: 103 N*m (1,050 kgf*cm, 76 ft.*lbf) 

  9. CHECK ABS SPEED SENSOR SIGNAL  (See INSTALLATION )
