Cooling System (Mechanical): Cooling: Radiator: Removal

CAUTION: As the hybrid system uses high voltage circuits, improper handling could cause an electric shock or leakage. Before performing servicing (including installation/removal, inspection and replacement of parts), be sure to read the following procedures (See REMOVAL ).
  1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.
  2. REMOVE SERVICE PLUG GRIP  (See REMOVAL )
  3. REMOVE ENGINE UNDER COVER  (See REMOVAL )
  4. DRAIN COOLANT (See  COOLANT   ) 
  5. REMOVE V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY  (See REMOVAL )
  6. REMOVE COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL  (See REMOVAL )
  7. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER RH  (See REMOVAL )
  8. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER LH  (See REMOVAL )
  9. REMOVE NO. 1 AIR CLEANER INLET  (See REMOVAL )
  10. DISCONNECT RADIATOR HOSE INLET 
  11. DISCONNECT RADIATOR HOSE OUTLET 
  12. REMOVE AIR CLEANER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the air cleaner cap (See REMOVAL ).
    2. Remove the air cleaner element.
    3. Remove the 3 bolts and air cleaner case.
  13. REMOVE OIL PUMP MOTOR CONTROLLER 
    1. Disconnect the 3 connectors.
    2. Remove the bolt, 2 bolts and controller.

  14. REMOVE HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU 
    1. Remove the ECU (see REMOVAL ).
  15. REMOVE FRONT BUMPER COVER  (See REMOVAL )
  16. REMOVE MILLIMETER WAVE RADAR SENSOR ASSEMBLY (w/ Dynamic Radar Cruise Control System) 
  17. REMOVE RADIATOR SUPPORT OPENING COVER  (See REMOVAL )
  18. REMOVE HOOD LOCK CONTROL CABLE COVER  (See REMOVAL )
  19. REMOVE HOOD LOCK ASSEMBLY  (See REMOVAL )
  20. REMOVE UPPER RADIATOR SUPPORT SUB-ASSEMBLY  (See REMOVAL )
  21. REMOVE RADIATOR ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disconnect the harness from the cooling fan ECU.
    2. Remove the 4 bolts and radiator.
      NOTE: Do not allow the cooler condenser and radiator to come into contact with each other.

    3. Detach the 3 claws and remove the fan.
    4. Remove the 2 radiator support cushions and 2 radiator lower supports from the radiator.

  22. REMOVE RADIATOR RESERVOIR ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the 2 bolts, reservoir and grommet.
