Inspection Procedure
NOTE:
When the seat belt control ECU is replaced with a new one, Active Test must be performed (see FAIL-SAFE CHART
).
- CHECK WIRE HARNESS (POWER SOURCE CIRCUIT)
- Disconnect the negative (-) terminal cable from the battery.
- Disconnect the V31 ECU connector.
- Connect the negative (-) terminal cable to the battery.
- Measure the voltage of the wire harness side connector.
Standard voltage
VOLTAGE SPECIFICATIONTester Connection Condition Specified Condition V31-3 (IG1) - Battery Power switch OFF Below 1 V Power switch ON (IG) 10 to 14 V V31-9 (+B) - Battery Always 10 to 14 V
NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK: GO TO Next Step
- CHECK WIRE HARNESS (GROUND CIRCUIT)
- Disconnect the negative (-) terminal cable from the battery.
- Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connector.
Standard resistance
RESISTANCE REFERENCETester Connection Specified Condition V31-18 (PGND) - Body ground Below 1 Ω
NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK: REPLACE SEAT BELT CONTROL ECU
