Inspection Procedure

NOTE: When the seat belt control ECU is replaced with a new one, Active Test must be performed (see FAIL-SAFE CHART  ).
  1. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (POWER SOURCE CIRCUIT) 
    1. Disconnect the negative (-) terminal cable from the battery.
    2. Disconnect the V31 ECU connector.
    3. Connect the negative (-) terminal cable to the battery.
    4. Measure the voltage of the wire harness side connector.

      Standard voltage 

      VOLTAGE SPECIFICATION

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      V31-3 (IG1) - Battery Power switch OFF Below 1 V
      Power switch ON (IG) 10 to 14 V
      V31-9 (+B) - Battery Always 10 to 14 V

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: GO TO Next Step 

  2. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (GROUND CIRCUIT) 
    1. Disconnect the negative (-) terminal cable from the battery.
    2. Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connector.

      Standard resistance 

      RESISTANCE REFERENCE

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      V31-18 (PGND) - Body ground Below 1 Ω

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: REPLACE SEAT BELT CONTROL ECU
