Inspection Procedure

  1. CONFIRM MODEL 

    Result 

    CONFIRM MODEL

    Result Proceed to
    with VDIM System A
    without VDIM System B

    B: Go to step   4 

    A: Go to next step. 

  2. CHECK CAN BUS LINE FOR OPEN (SKID CONTROL ECU BRANCH LINE) 
    1. Turn the engine switch off.
    2. Disconnect the skid control ECU connector (J77).
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in CAN BUS LINE FOR OPEN (SKID CONTROL ECU BRANCH LINE)  .

    Standard resistance 

    CAN BUS LINE FOR OPEN (SKID CONTROL ECU BRANCH LINE)

    Tester Connection Condition Specified Value
    J77-8 (CANH) - J77-16 (CANL) Engine switch off 54 to 69 ohms

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE SKID CONTROL ECU BRANCH LINE OR CONNECTOR (CAN-H, CAN-L) 

    OK: Go to next step. 

  3. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (IG1, GND1) 
    1. Disconnect the skid control ECU connectors (J78) and (A35).
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in WIRE HARNESS (IG1, GND1) (RESISTANCE)  .

      Standard resistance 

      WIRE HARNESS (IG1, GND1) (RESISTANCE)

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Value
      J78-26 (GND1) - Body ground Always Below 1 ohms
    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in WIRE HARNESS (IG1, GND1) (VOLTAGE)  .

    Standard voltage 

    WIRE HARNESS (IG1, GND1) (VOLTAGE)

    Tester Connection Condition Specified Value
    J77-1 (IG1) - Body ground Engine switch on (IG) 10 to 14 V

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: REPLACE SKID CONTROL ECU 

  4. CHECK CAN BUS LINE FOR OPEN (SKID CONTROL ECU BRANCH LINE) 
    1. Turn the engine switch off.
    2. Disconnect the skid control ECU connector (A14).
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in CAN BUS LINE FOR OPEN (SKID CONTROL ECU BRANCH LINE)  .

    Standard resistance 

    CAN BUS LINE FOR OPEN (SKID CONTROL ECU BRANCH LINE)

    Tester Connection Condition Specified Value
    A14-11 (CANH) - A14-25 (CANL) Engine switch on (IG) 54 to 69 ohms

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE SKID CONTROL ECU BRANCH LINE OR CONNECTOR (CAN-H, CAN-L) 

    OK: Go to next step. 

  5. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (IG1, GND1) 
    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in WIRE HARNESS (IG1, GND1)  .

      Standard resistance 

      WIRE HARNESS (IG1, GND1) (RESISTANCE)

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Value
      A14-32 (GND1) - Body ground Always Below 1 ohms
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in WIRE HARNESS (IG1, GND1) (VOLTAGE)  .

    Standard voltage 

    WIRE HARNESS (IG1, GND1) (VOLTAGE)

    Tester Connection Condition Specified Value
    A14-46 (IG1) - Body ground Engine switch on (IG) 10 to 14 V

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: REPLACE SKID CONTROL ECU (BRAKE ACTUATOR)
