Charging (4GR-FSE): Generator: Removal

  1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
  2. REMOVE COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL (See  REMOVAL  ) 
  3. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER LH (See Step 2 in  REMOVAL  ) 
  4. REMOVE V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY (See Step 4 in  REMOVAL  ) 
  5. REMOVE NO. 1 INLET AIR CLEANER (See Step 19 in  REMOVAL  ) 
  6. REMOVE V-RIBBED BELT (See Step 4 in  REMOVAL  ) 
  7. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT (See Step 4 in  ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION  ) 
  8. REMOVE RADIATOR INLET HOSE (See Step 17 in  REMOVAL  ) 
  9. REMOVE NO. 2 ENGINE COVER (See Step 82 in  REMOVAL  ) 
  10. REMOVE NO. 2 IDLER PULLEY SUB-ASSEMBLY (See Step 23 in  REMOVAL  ) 
  11. DISCONNECT WIRE HARNESS 
    1. Remove the 3 nuts (A) and disconnect wire harness.
    2. Disconnect the 2 connectors (B).

  12. REMOVE GENERATOR ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the terminal cap.
    2. Remove the nut (A) and disconnect the wire harness from terminal B.
    3. Remove the bolt (B) and clamp bracket.
    4. Disconnect the generator connector, and detach the 2 clamps.

    5. Remove the nut, and disconnect the generator bracket.

    6. Remove the 2 bolts and generator.

    7. Remove the 2 bolts and 2 generator brackets.
