Scuff Plate Light: Inspection

  1. INSPECT SCUFF PLATE LIGHT 
    1. Disconnect the connector from the scuff plate light.
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value (s) in the table below.

      Standard voltage LH Side: 

      TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION CHART

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      Q8-2 (+) - Q8-1 (-) Any door Is opened 10 to 14 V
      Q8-2 (+) - Q8-1 (-) All doors are closed Below 1 V

      RH Side: 

      TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION CHART

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      P2.2 (+) - P2-1 (-) Any door Is opened 10 to 14 V
      P2-2 (+) - P2-1 (-) All doors are closed Below 1 V

      If the result is not as specified, repair or replace the wire harness or connector.

    3. Connect the (+) lead from the battery to terminal 2 and the (-) lead to terminal 1.

    4. Check that the scuff plate light comes on.

      OK: Comes on 

      If the result is not as specified, replace the scuff plate.
