How To Proceed With Troubleshooting
HINT:
- Use these procedures to troubleshoot the lighting system.
- *: Use the intelligent tester or Techstream.
- VEHICLE BROUGHT TO WORKSHOP
- INSPECT BATTERY VOLTAGE
Standard voltage:
11 to 14 V
If the voltage is below 11V, recharge or replace the battery before proceeding.
- CHECK FOR DTC (ELECTRIC ROWER CONTROL SYSTEM)*
- Using the intelligent tester or Techstream check if the electric power control system is functioning normally.
Result:
FOR DTC (ELECTRIC ROWER CONTROL SYSTEM)Result Proceed to DTC B22B3 is not output A DTC B22B3 is output B
B: Go to ELECTRIC POWER CONTROL SYSTEM
A: GO TO NEXT STEP
- Using the intelligent tester or Techstream check if the electric power control system is functioning normally.
- CHECK COMMUNICATION FUNCTION OF COMMUNICATION SYSTEM*
- Check for DTCs and make a note of any codes that are output (see DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART ).
- Clear the DTC.
- Recheck for DTCs. Based on the DTCs output above, try to cause the output of the same CAN communication system DTC, LIN communication DTC or lighting system DTC by simulating the symptoms indicated by the DTC.
Result:
COMMUNICATION FUNCTION OF COMMUNICATION SYSTEMResult Proceed to DTC output does not reoccur A CAN communication system DTC output reoccurs B LIN communication system DTC output reoccurs C Lighting system DTC output reoccurs D
B: Go to CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM (See CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM )
C: Go to LIN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM (See DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART )
D: Go to DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART
A: GO TO NEXT STEP
- PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
Result:
RESULT CHARTResult Proceed to Fault is not listed in problem symptoms table A Fault is listed in problem symptoms table B B: Go to step 7
