Inspection Procedure

  1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST BY INTELLIGENT TESTER OR TECHSTREAM (FRONT DOOR LOCK LH) 
    1. Select the Active Test, use the intelligent tester or Techstream to generate a control command, and then check that the door lock motor function.
      1. Intelligent tester

        D-DOOR (Front door ECU LH) 

        INTELLIGENT TESTER - D-DOOR (FRONT DOOR ECU LH)

    NG: Go to step   4 

    OK: GO TO NEXT STEP 

  2. READ VALUE OF INTELLIGENT TESTER OR TECHSTREAM (DOOR LOCK POSITION SWITCH) 
    1. Use the Data List to check if the door lock position switch is functioning properly.
      1. Intelligent tester

        D-DOOR (Front door ECU LH) 

        INTELLIGENT TESTER - D-DOOR (FRONT DOOR ECU LH)

        LOCK POS SW Driver side door lock position switch signal/ON or OFF ON: Driver side door is unlocked

        Driver Door (Front door ECU LH) 

        TECHSTREAM - DRIVER DOOR (FRONT DOOR ECU LH)

        Lock Position SW Driver side door lock position switch signal/ON or OFF ON: Driver side door is unlocked
        OFF: Driver side door is locked

        OK: On tester screen, item changes between ON and OFF according to above chart. 

    NG: Go to step   8 

    OK: GO TO NEXT STEP 

  3. CHECK FRONT DOOR ECU LH (OPERATION) 
    1. Replace the front door ECU LH with a normal one (see INSTALLATION ).
    2. Check that all doors can be locked and unlocked by using the master switch.

      OK: All doors can be locked and unlocked with master switch. 

    NG: REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU 

    OK: END (FRONT DOOR ECU LH IS DEFECTIVE) 

  4. INSPECT FUSE (D DOOR 1, D DOOR 2) 
    1. Remove the D DOOR 1 and D DOOR 2 fuses from the main body ECU.
    2. Measure the resistance of the fuse.

      Standard Resistance 

      FUSE (D DOOR 1, D DOOR 2)

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      D DOOR 1 fuse Always Below 1 Ω
      D DOOR 2 fuse Always Below 1 Ω

    NG: REPLACE FUSE 

    OK: GO TO NEXT STEP 

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FRONT DOOR ECU LH - BATTERY)

    1. Disconnect the N10 ECU connector.
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard voltage 

      FRONT DOOR ECU LH - BATTERY

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      N10-6 (BDR) - Body ground Always 11 to 14 V
      N10-16(BDG1)-Body ground Always 11 to 14 V

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: GO TO NEXT STEP 

  6. INSPECT FRONT DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY LH

    1. w/o Door Closer:
      1. Apply battery voltage to the door lock motor and check operation of the door lock motor.

        OK 

        FRONT DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY LH (W/O DOOR CLOSER)

        Battery positive (+) → Terminal 4 (L)
        Battery negative (-) → Terminal 1 (UL)
        Lock
        Battery positive (+) → Terminal 1 (UL)
        Battery negative (-) → Terminal 4 (L)
        Unlock
    2. w/ Door Closer:

      1. Apply battery voltage to the door lock motor and check operation of the door lock motor.

        OK 

        FRONT DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY LH (W/DOOR CLOSER)

        Measurement Condition Specified Condition
        Battery positive (+) → Terminal N15-4 (L)
        Battery negative (-) → Terminal N15-1 (UL)
        Lock
        Battery positive (+) → Terminal N15-1 (UL)
        Battery negative (-) → Terminal N15-4 (L)
        Unlock

    NG: REPLACE FRONT DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY LH  (See INSTALLATION )

    OK: GO TO NEXT STEP 

  7. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FRONT DOOR LOCK LH - FRONT DOOR ECU LH)

    1. Disconnect the N15 door lock connector.
    2. Disconnect the N9 ECU connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance 

      FRONT DOOR LOCK LH - FRONT DOOR ECU LH

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      N15-1 (UL)-N9-1 (A-) Always Below 1 Ω
      N15-4 (L) - N9-2 (A+) Always Below 1 Ω
      N15-1(UL)-Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      N15-4 (L) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: REPLACE FRONT DOOR ECU LH  (See INSTALLATION )

  8. INSPECT FRONT DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY LH (DOOR LOCK POSITION SWITCH)

    1. w/o Door Closer:
      1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard resistance 

        FRONT DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY LH (DOOR LOCK POSITION SWITCH) (W/O DOOR CLOSER)

        7 (E) - 8 (LSSR) Unlock Below 1 Ω
        7 (E) - 8 (LSSR) Lock 10 kΩ or higher

      1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard resistance 

        FRONT DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY LH (DOOR LOCK POSITION SWITCH) (W/DOOR CLOSER)

        Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
        N15-7(E)-N15-8 (LSSR) Unlock Below 1 Ω
        N15-7(E)-N15-8 (LSSR) Lock 10 kΩ or higher

    NG: REPLACE FRONT DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY LH  (See INSTALLATION )

    OK: GO TO NEXT STEP 

  9. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FRONT DOOR ECU LH - FRONT DOOR LOCK LH)

    1. Disconnect the N9 ECU connector.
    2. Disconnect the N15 door lock connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance 

      FRONT DOOR ECU LH - FRONT DOOR LOCK LH

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      N9-13(LSWE)-N15-7 (E) Always Below 1 Ω
      N9-25(LSW)-N15-8 (LSSR) Always Below 1 Ω
      NS-13 (LSWE)-Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      N9-25 (LSW) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: REPLACE FRONT DOOR ECU LH  (See INSTALLATION )
