Disassembly and Assembly: Disassembly

CAUTION:
  • While working, cover the primary piston rod with a cloth to prevent it from being damaged.
  • Master cylinder assembly cannot be disassembled.
  • Do not drop parts. If a part is dropped, do not use it.
  1. Secure the flange of the cylinder body in a vise as shown.

    CAUTION:
    • Use copper plates or a cloth to cover the flange before securing it in a vise.
    • When securing the master cylinder assembly in a vise, be sure not to over-tighten the vise.
  2. Remove the pin from reservoir tank, using suitable tool approximately 4 mm (0.16 in) diameter.

  3. Remove the master cylinder assembly from the vise.
  4. Remove the reservoir tank and grommets from the cylinder body and discard the grommets.
    CAUTION: Discard the grommets, do not reuse.
