Front Seat Assembly: Disassembly

CAUTION: Wear protective gloves. Sharp areas on the seatback frame and seat adjuster may injure your hands.

HINT:

  1. REMOVE FRONT SEAT HEADREST ASSEMBLY 
  2. REMOVE FRONT SEATBACK BOARD SUBASSEMBLY 
    1. Pull the seatback board in the direction indicated by the arrow in the illustration to detach the 2 claws.

    2. Pull the seatback board in the direction indicated by the arrow in the illustration to detach the 2 hooks.

    Then remove the seatback board.

  3. REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION SHIELD LH 
    1. Using a screwdriver, remove the 2 power seat switch knobs.

      HINT:

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

    2. Remove the 4 screws.

    3. Disconnect the connectors as shown in the illustration and remove the cushion shield.

    4. Remove the 3 screws and power seat switch from the cushion shield.
    5. Remove the 2 screws and lumbar support switch from the cushion shield.

  4. REMOVE FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY LH 
    1. Detach the clamp and disconnect the connector.
    2. Remove the bolt and inner belt.

  5. REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION SHIELD INNER LH 
    1. Remove the 3 screws and cushion shield.

  6. REMOVE SEAT TRACK LOWER RAIL PROTECTOR 
    1. Remove the screw.
    2. Detach the claws and remove the rail protector.

  7. REMOVE FRONT NO. 1 SEAT CUSHION SHIELD INNER LH 
    1. Remove the screw and cushion shield.

  8. REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the 4 bolts and detach the clamps. Then remove the seat cushion.
  9. REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION COVER 
    1. Detach the hooks.
    2. Remove the hog rings and the seat cushion cover (with pad) from the seat cushion frame.

    3. Remove the hog rings and seat cushion cover from the seat cushion pad.
  10. REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION HEATER 
    1. Turn the seat cushion cover inside out.

    2. Disconnect the seat wires.

    3. Remove the tack pins which are fastened to the heater.

    4. Remove the seat heater from the seat cushion cover.

    HINT:

    Be sure to remove the wire before removing the seat heater.

  11. REMOVE FRONT SEATBACK ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the hog rings.
    2. Detach the hooks as shown in the illustration.
    3. Disconnect the connectors.

    4. Remove the 4 bolts and seatback.
      NOTE: When handling the airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.
    5. Remove the screw and reclining adjuster inside shield RH.
    6. Disconnect the side airbag connector.
      NOTE: When handling the airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.
    7. Remove the screw and the reclining adjuster inside shield LH.

  12. REMOVE FRONT ARMREST ASSEMBLY LH 
    1. Using a screwdriver, remove the No. 1 armrest cap.

      HINT:

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

    2. Remove the bolt and armrest.
    3. Remove the bush.
  13. REMOVE FRONT SEATBACK COVER 
    1. Remove the hog rings, clamps and 2 bolts.
    2. Remove the 2 headrest supports.
    3. Remove the hog rings and seatback cover (with pad) from the seatback frame.

    4. Remove the hog rings, wires and seatback cover from the seatback pad.

  14. REMOVE FRONT SEATBACK HEATER 
    1. Turn the seatback cover inside out.
    2. Remove the seat wires.
    3. Remove the tack pins which are fastened to the seat heater.
    4. Remove the seat heater from the seatback cover.

  15. REMOVE LUMBAR SUPPORT ADJUSTER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the 2 bolts and lumbar support.
    2. Remove the spacer.
  16. REMOVE SEAT POSITION CONTROL RELAY 
    1. Disconnect the connectors.
    2. Remove the 2 bolts and control relay.

  17. REMOVE SEAT POSITION AIRBAG SENSOR (for Driver Side) 
    1. Remove the bolt and airbag sensor.
    2. Disconnect the connector.
