Inspection Procedure

NOTE:
The vehicle is equipped with an SRS such as the airbags. Before servicing (including removal or installation of parts), be sure to read the precautionary notice for the airbag system (See
SYSTEM DESCRIPTION
).
- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (RADIO RECEIVER - BATTERY)
- Disconnect the E62 (*1) or E47 (*2) receiver connector.
- Measure the voltage of the wire harness side connector.

- Disconnect the E62 (*1) or E48 (*2) receiver connector.
- Disconnect the E19 meter connector.
- Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.

- Disconnect the E7 cable connector.
- Disconnect the E49 receiver connector.
- Measure the voltage and resistance of the wire harness side connectors.

- INSPECT STEERING PAD SWITCH
- Disconnect the a1 steering pad switch connector.
- Connect the positive (+) lead to terminal ILL+ and the negative (-) lead to terminal EAU of the steering pad switch connector.
- Check if the illumination for the steering pad switch comes on.
OK:
Illumination for the steering pad switch assembly comes on.
NG: REPLACE STEERING PAD SWITCH
OK: GO to next step
- INSPECT SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY
- Disconnect the cable connector.
- Measure the resistance of the cable.
