Ignition Switch: Inspection

  1. INSPECT IGNITION SWITCH ASSEMBLY 
    1. Check the resistance.
      1. Using an ohmmeter, measure the resistance between the terminals.

        Standard resistance 

        IGNITION SWITCH ASSEMBLY

        Switch Condition Tester Connection Specified Condition
        LOCK - 10 kΩ or higher
        ACC 1 (AM1) - 3 (ACC) Below 1 Ω
        ON 1 (AM1) - 3 (ACC) - 4 (IG1) 7 (IG2) - 8 (AM2) Below 1 Ω
        START 1 (AM1) - 2 (ST1) - 4 (IG1) 6 (ST2) - 7 (IG2) - 8 (AM2) Below 1 Ω

        If the result is not as specified, replace the ignition switch.
