Inspection Procedure

  1. READ VALUE OF INTELLIGENT TESTER (MIRROR RETRACT SWITCH) 
    1. Check the DATA LIST for proper functioning of the mirror retract switch.

      Driver side junction block ECU: 

      DATA LIST REFERENCE

      Item Measurement Item / Range (Display) Normal Condition Diagnostic Note
      MIRR FOLD SW Mirror retract signal / ON or OFF ON: Switch is ON
      OFF: Switch is OFF
      -
      MIRR RETRN SW Mirror return signal / ON or OFF ON: Switch is OFF
      OFF: Switch is ON
      -

      OK: On tester screen, each item changes between ON and OFF according to above chart. 

    OK: PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE 

    NG: Go to Next step 

  2. INSPECT OUTER MIRROR SWITCH ASSEMBLY (MIRROR RETRACT SWITCH)

    1. Measure the resistance of the switch.

      Standard resistance 

      RESISTANCE REFERENCE

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      4 - 5 ON (Retract) 10 kΩ or higher
      4 - 5 OFF (Return) Below 1 Ω

    NG: REPLACE OUTER MIRROR SWITCH ASSEMBLY 

    OK: Go to Next step 

  3. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (OUTER MIRROR SWITCH ASSEMBLY [MIRROR RETRACT SWITCH] - DRIVER SIDE JUNCTION BLOCK ECU AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the M4 switch connector.
    2. Disconnect the D5 ECU connector.

    3. Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.

      Standard resistance 

      RESISTANCE REFERENCE

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      M4-4 - D5-8 (RET) Below 1 Ω
      M4-5 - Body ground Below 1 Ω

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: REPLACE DRIVER SIDE JUNCTION BLOCK (DRIVER SIDE JUNCTION BLOCK ECU)
