Instrument Panel Safety Pad: Installation
- INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD SUB-ASSEMBLY
- Attach the 2 claws to install the instrument panel safety pad (with instrument panel reinforcement and steering column).
- Install the instrument panel safety pad with the 8 bolts, 2 caps and steering yoke bolt.
- Connect the connectors.
- Install the floor carpet.
- INSTALL INSTRUMENT SIDE PANEL RH
- Attach the 6 claws to install the panel
- INSTALL FRONT PILLAR GARNISH RH
- Attach the claw and 2 clips to install the pillar garnish.
- INSTALL FRONT PILLAR GARNISH LH
HINT:
Use the same procedures described for RH side.
- INSTALL NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL BRACE SUB-ASSEMBLY
- Install the brace with the 2 nuts and 2 bolts.
- INSTALL NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL BRACE SUB-ASSEMBLY
- Install the brace with the bolt and nut.
- Install the tire pressure monitor receiver with the 2 bolts.
- INSTALL CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY
- Attach the 2 clips to install the console box.
- Install the 8 bolts and 4 screws.
- INSTALL NO. 3 BOX PANEL
- Attach the 7 claws to install the panel
- INSTALL CONSOLE BOX CARPET
- INSTALL GLOVE COMPARTMENT DOOR ASSEMBLY
- Connect the connectors.CAUTION: When handling the airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.
- Install the glove compartment door together with the airbag assembly.
- Install the 2 screws.
- Install the 2 bolts.
Torque: 10 N*m (102 kgf*cm, 7 ft.*lbf)
- Connect the connectors.
- INSTALL NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY
- Connect the connector.
- Attach the 3 clips and 2 claws to install the under cover.
- INSTALL INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY CENTER (w/ LEXUS Navigation System)
- INSTALL NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL GARNISH SUB-ASSEMBLY (w/ LEXUS Navigation System)
- Attach the 6 clips and 2 claws to install the panel garnish.
- INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD GARNISH SUB-ASSEMBLY (w/ LEXUS Navigation System)
- Attach the 3 clips and 2 claws to install the safety pad garnish.
- INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD GARNISH SUB-ASSEMBLY (w/o LEXUS Navigation System)
- Attach the 5 clips and 4 claws to install the safety pad garnish.
- INSTALL INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY LOWER CENTER
- INSTALL AIR CONDITIONING CONTROL ASSEMBLY
- Connect the connector.
- Attach the 6 clips to install the air conditioning control.
- INSTALL UPPER CONSOLE PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY
- Connect the connectors.
- Attach the 6 clips and 4 claws to install the panel.
- INSTALL REAR CONSOLE UPPER PANEL GARNISH
- Connect the connectors.
- Attach the 4 claws to install the panel garnish.
- INSTALL COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY
- Connect the connectors.
- Install the combination meter with the 4 screws.
- INSTALL TURN SIGNAL SWITCH ASSEMBLY (See INSTALLATION )
- INSTALL STEERING COLUMN COVER LOWER (See INSTALLATION )
- INSTALL STEERING COLUMN COVER UPPER
- INSTALL INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY
- Connect the connector.
- Attach the 4 clips to install the panel.
- INSTALL DRIVER SIDE KNEE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY (See INSTALLATION )
- INSTALL NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD SUB-ASSEMBLY
- Attach the 4 Clips to install the safety pad.
- Install the 3 bolts.
- Connect the hood lock control cable and connectors.
- INSTALL FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM COVER RH
- Attach the 3 claws to install the trim cover.
- INSTALL FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM COVER LH

- INSTALL DOOR SCUFF PLATE ASSEMBLY RH
- Connect the connector.
- Attach the 4 claws and 5 clips to install the door scuff plate.
