Inspection Procedure

  1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (CERTIFICATION ECU - ELECTRICAL KEY OSCILLATOR) 
    1. Disconnect the E13 ECU connector.
    2. Disconnect the oscillator connectors.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance: 

      Console 

      RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION CHART

      Tester Connection (Symbols) Condition Specified Condition
      E13-12 (CG5B) - E24-3 (CLGB) Always Below 1 Ω
      E13-11 (CLG5) - E24-1 (CLG3) Always Below 1 Ω
      E13-12 (CG5B) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      E13-11 (CLG5) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Rear Seat 

      RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION CHART

      Tester Connection (Symbols) Condition Specified Condition
      E13-14 (CG6B) - L9-3 (CLGB) Always Below 1 Ω
      E13-13 (CLG6) - L9-1 (CLG4) Always Below 1 Ω
      E13-14 (CG6B) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  2. CHECK AND REPLACE ELECTRICAL KEY OSCILLATOR 
    1. Replace the electrical key oscillator.
    2. Check that the entry LOCK/UNLOCK function operates normally.

      OK: 

      Entry LOCK/UNLOCK function operates normally. 

    OK: END (ELECTRICAL KEY OSCILLATOR IS DEFECTIVE) 

    NG: Go to next step 

  3. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST BY TECHSTREAM (CERTIFICATION ECU OUTPUT SIGNAL) 
    1. Reconnect the oscillator and the ECU connectors.
    2. Connect Techstream to the DLC3.
    3. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
    4. Turn the tester on.
    5. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Smart Access / Active Test.
    6. Perform the Active Test according to the display on the tester.

      Smart Access: 

      SMART ACCESS ACTIVE TEST REFERENCE

      Tester Display Test Part Control Range
      FR Transmitter Indoor electrical key oscillator (console) ON/OFF
      RR Transmitter Indoor electrical key oscillator (rear seat) ON/OFF
    7. Measure the frequency according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard: 

      Console 

      TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION CHART

      Tester Connection (Symbols) Condition Specified Condition
      E13-12 (CG5B) - E13-11 (CLG5) During Active Test Frequency is generated (higher than 0 Hz)

      Rear Seat 

      TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION CHART

    NG: REPLACE CERTIFICATION ECU 

    OK: PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
