Light Control Rheostat: Inspection

  1. INSPECT LIGHT CONTROL RHEOSTAT 
    1. Disconnect the connector from the light control rheostat.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance 

      RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      E55-1 (TC) - E55-3 (T) Turn the light control rheostat knob fully downwards Below 1 Ω
      E55-1 (TC) - E55-3 (T) Turn the light control rheostat knob fully upwards 8 kΩ or higher
      E55-3 (T) - E55-4 (RV) Turn the light control rheostat knob fully downwards Below 1 Ω
      E55-3 (T) - E55-4 (RV) Turn the light control rheostat knob downwards to upwards The value changes gradually (Between below 1 to 8 kΩ)
      E55-3 (T) - E55-4 (RV) Turn the light control rheostat knob fully upwards 8 to 12 kΩ

      HINT:

      If the value is not as specified, replace the light control rheostat.
