Inspection Procedure

  1. CHECK REAR SEAT ENTERTAINMENT SYSTEM 
    1. Check if the vehicle is equipped with the rear seat entertainment system.

      Result: 

      REAR SEAT ENTERTAINMENT SYSTEM

      Result Proceed to
      w/ Rear seat entertainment system A
      w/o Rear seat entertainment system B

      NG:  Go to step  4

      OK: Go to Next Step 

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (DISC PLAYER CHANGER - TELEVISION DISPLAY) 
    1. Disconnect the D24 changer connector.
    2. Disconnect the R27 display connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance 

      DISC PLAYER CHANGER - TELEVISION DISPLAY TABLE

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      D24-13 (SGD1) - R27-9 (SLD) Always Below 1 Ω
      D24-16 (NTS1) - R27-11 (NTSC) Always Below 1 Ω
      D24-32 (SG-) - R27-10 (SGN1) Always Below 1 Ω
      D24-16 (NTS1) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      D24-32 (SG-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

      OK: Go to Next Step 

  3. INSPECT TELEVISION DISPLAY 
    1. Reconnect the R27 display connector.

    2. Check the waveform of the television display using an oscilloscope.

      OK: Waveform as shown below.

      Measurement terminal NTSC (R27-11) - Body ground
      Measurement setting 0.2V/DIV., 10 μsec./DIV.
      Condition DVD is played on television display

      NG: REPLACE TELEVISION DISPLAY 

      OK: Go to Next Step 

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MULTI-DISPLAY - DISC PLAYER CHANGER) 
    1. Disconnect the M22 display connector.
    2. Disconnect the D24 changer connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance 

      MULTI-DISPLAY - DISC PLAYER CHANGER TABLE

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      M22-1 (NTSC) - D24-27 (NTSC) Always Below 1 Ω
      M22-4 (SG) - D24-28 (SG) Always Below 1 Ω
      M22-5 (SGD1) - D24-29 (SGND) Always Below 1 Ω
      M22-1 (NTSC) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      M22-4 (SG) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

      OK: Go to Next Step 

  5. INSPECT DISC PLAYER CHANGER 
    1. Reconnect the D24 changer connector.

    2. Check the waveform of the disc player changer using an oscilloscope.

      OK: Waveform as shown below.

      Measurement setting 0.2V/DIV., 10 μsec./DIV.
      Condition DVD is played on disc player changer

      NG: REPLACE DISC PLAYER CHANGER 

      OK: PROCEED TO NEXT INSPECTION PROCEDURE SHOWN IN  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
