On-Vehicle Inspection

- CHECK OIL QUALITY
- Check the oil for deterioration, water contamination, discoloring or thinning
If the quality is visibly poor, replace the oil and filter (See OIL AND OIL FILTER )
- Check the oil for deterioration, water contamination, discoloring or thinning
- CHECK ENGINE OIL LEVEL
- Warm up and stop the engine, and then wait 5 minutes. The oil level should be between the dipstick low level mark and full level mark. If low, check for leaks and add oil up to the full level markNOTE: Do not fill engine oil above the full level mark.

- CHECK ENGINE OIL PRESSURE
- Remove the engine oil pressure switch (See OIL AND OIL FILTER )
- Install the oil pressure gauge with an adapter.
- Warm up the engine
- Measure the engine oil pressure
Standard Oil Pressure
OIL PRESSURE SPECIFICATIONCondition Specified Condition Idle 70 kPa (0 713 kgf/cm2 , 10.2 psi) or more 2500 rpm 220 kPa (2.24 kgf/cm2 , 31.9 psi) or more If pressure is not as specified, check the oil pump (See INSPECTION )
- Install the engine oil pressure switch (See INSTALLATION ).
