Steering Wheel Assembly: Inspection

- INSPECT STEERING COLUMN ASSEMBLY (Tilt Motor)
- Disconnect connector J28 from the tilt motor.
- Inspect the tilt motor.
- Connect the positive battery terminal to terminal TIM+ and the negative battery terminal to terminal TIM- of the tilt motor connector. Then confirm that the steering wheel tilts up
OK: Steering wheel tilts up.
- Connect the negative battery terminal to terminal TIM+ and the positive battery terminal to terminal TIM- of the tilt motor connector Then confirm that the steering wheel tilts down.
OK: Steering wheel tilts down.
- Connect the positive battery terminal to terminal TIM+ and the negative battery terminal to terminal TIM- of the tilt motor connector. Then confirm that the steering wheel tilts up
- INSPECT STEERING COLUMN ASSEMBLY (Telescopic Motor)
- Disconnect connector A from the multiplex tilt & telescopic ECU.
- Inspect the telescopic motor.
- Connect the positive battery terminal to terminal TEM+ and the negative battery terminal to terminal TEM- of the telescopic motor connector. Then confirm that the steering column contracts
OK: Steering column contracts.
- Connect the negative battery terminal to terminal TEM- and the positive battery terminal to terminal TEM- of the telescopic motor connector Then confirm that the steering column extends.
OK: Steering column extends.
- Connect the positive battery terminal to terminal TEM+ and the negative battery terminal to terminal TEM- of the telescopic motor connector. Then confirm that the steering column contracts
