How To Proceed With Troubleshooting

HINT:

  1. VEHICLE BROUGHT TO WORKSHOP 
  2. CHECK MULTIPLEX COMMUNICATION SYSTEM 
    1. Use the Techstream to check if the multiplex communication system is functioning normally.

    Result: 

    RESULT REFERENCE

    DTC Condition Proceed to
    DTC is not output A
    DTC is output B

    B:  GO TO MULTIPLEX COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

    A: Go to Next Step 

  3. CHECK CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM 
    1. Use the Techstream to check for normally functioning of CAN communication system.
      1. Perform bus check (Communication malfunctioning DTC).
      2. Perform bus check (Communication Bus check).

      Result: 

    RESULT REFERENCE

    DTC Condition Proceed to
    DTC is not output A
    DTC is output B

    B:  GO TO CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

    A: Go to Next Step 

  4. CHECK FOR DTC 
    1. Check for DTCs.
      1. Record the DTCs.
    2. Clear the DTCs.
    3. Recheck for DTCs.
      1. Attempt to duplicate the malfunction and check if the DTCs are output again (See DTC CHECK/CLEAR ).

      Result: 

    RESULT REFERENCE

    DTC Condition Proceed to
    DTC is not output A
    DTC is output B
    No DTC is output, and malfunction cannot be duplicated or checked C

    B:  GO TO DTC CHART 

    C: SYMPTOM SIMULATION 

    A: Go to Next Step 

  5. PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE 
    1. If the result is not listed on the problem symptoms table, proceed to A.
    2. If the result is listed on the problem symptoms table, proceed to B.

    B: GO TO STEP   7 

    A: Go to Next Step 

  6. OVERALL ANALYSIS AND TROUBLESHOOTING 
    1. DATA LIST/ACTIVE TEST (See DTC CHECK/CLEAR ).
    2. Terminals of ECU (See TERMINALS OF ECU ).
  7. ADJUST, REPAIR OR REPLACE 
  8. CONFIRMATION TEST
