Inspection Procedure

  1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MAYDAY ECU - MAYDAY BATTERY) 
    1. Disconnect the R23 ECU connector.
    2. Fig 1: Identifying R23 ECU And S50 Battery Connector Terminals

    3. Disconnect the S50 battery connector.
    4. Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance 

      TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION REFERENCE CHART

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      R23-2 (BBI+) - S50-1 (BBO+) Always Below 1 Ω
      R23-9 (BBI-) - S50-2 (BBO-) Always Below 1 Ω
      R23-2 (BBI+) or S50-1 (BBO+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      R23-9 (BBI-) or S50-2 (BBO-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR THEN CLEAR HISTORIC DTC 

    OK: Go to Next Step 

  2. REPLACE MAYDAY BATTERY (BACKUP BATTERY) 
    1. Perform registration (see REGISTRATION  ).
    2. Check for DTC again (see DTC CHECK / CLEAR  ).

      OK: No DTCs output. 

    NG: REPLACE MAYDAY ECU THEN PERFORM REGISTRATION 

    OK: END (MAYDAY BATTERY IS FAULTY; CLEAR HISTORIC DTC)
