Inspection Procedure

  1. READ VALUE OF TECHSTREAM (SEAT MEMORY SWITCH) 
    1. Check the Data List for proper functioning of the seat memory switch.

      Rear Left Seat 

      REAR LEFT SEAT DATA LIST

      Tester Display Measurement Item/Range Normal Condition
      Cancel SW Seat memory CAN switch signal / ON or OFF ON: Memory CAN switch is ON
      OFF: Memory CAN switch is OFF

      Rear Right Seat 

      REAR RIGHT SEAT DATA LIST

      Tester Display Measurement Item/Range Normal Condition
      Cancel SW Seat memory CAN switch signal / ON or OFF ON: Memory CAN switch is ON
      OFF: Memory CAN switch is OFF

      OK: On screen, each item changes between ON and OFF according to above chart. 

      Result

      Rear seat LH normal A
      Rear seat RH normal (w/o Ottoman) B
      Rear seat RH normal (w/ Ottoman) C
      Rear seat LH malfunctioning D

    B: REPLACE POSITION (See  REMOVAL   ) CONTROL ECU RH 

    C: REPLACE POSITION (See  REMOVAL   ) CONTROL ECU RH 

    D: Go to step 2 

    E: Go to step  4

    A: REPLACE POSITION CONTROL ECU LH  (See REMOVAL  )

  2. INSPECT REAR SEAT MEMORY SWITCH LH 
    1. Remove the memory switch (see REMOVAL  ).
    2. Measure the resistance according to the values in the table below.

      Standard Resistance 

      RESISTANCE SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      Q7-1 (CAN) - Q7-5 (SGND) C switch pressed Below 1 Ω

    NG: REPLACE REAR SEAT MEMORY SWITCH LH  (See REMOVAL  )

    OK: Go to Next Step 

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (REAR DOOR ECU LH - REAR SEAT MEMORY SWITCH AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the O15 ECU connector.
    2. Disconnect the Q7 switch connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the values in the table below.

      Standard Resistance 

      RESISTANCE SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      O15-18 (CAN) - Q7-1 (CAN) Always Below 1 Ω
      O15-29 (MSWE) - Q7-5 (MSWE) Always Below 1 Ω
      O15-18 (CAN) -Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      O15-29 (MSWE) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: REPLACE REAR DOOR ECU LH  (See INSTALLATION )

  4. INSPECT REAR SEAT MEMORY SWITCH RH 
    1. Remove the memory switch (see REMOVAL  ).
    2. Measure the resistance according to the values in the table below.

      Standard Resistance 

      RESISTANCE SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      Q2-1 (CAN) - Q2-5 (SGND) C switch pressed Below 1 Ω

    NG: REPLACE REAR SEAT MEMORY SWITCH RH  (See REMOVAL  )

    OK: Go to Next Step 

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (REAR DOOR ECU RH - REAR SEAT MEMORY SWITCH AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the O2 ECU connector.
    2. Disconnect the Q2 switch connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the values in the table below.

      Standard Resistance 

      RESISTANCE SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      O2-18 (CAN) -Q2-1 (CAN) Always Below 1 Ω
      O2-29 (MSWE) - Q2-5 (MSWE) Always Below 1 Ω
      O2-18 (CAN) -Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      O2-29 (MSWE) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: REPLACE REAR DOOR ECU RH  (See COMPONENTS )
