Inspection Procedure
HINT:
Check that there is no problem in CAN communication before performing the following procedure. If there are any problems in these communications, first troubleshoot them and then proceed to the troubleshooting below.
- CHECK BATTERY
- Measure the battery voltage.
Standard Voltage
VOLTAGE SPECIFICATIONTester Connection Condition Specified Condition Battery terminal (+) - Battery terminal (-) Always 11 to 14 V
NG: REPLACE BATTERY
OK: Go to next step
- Measure the battery voltage.
- PERFORM ACTIVE TEST BY TECHSTREAM (COMBINATION METER)
- Select the Active Test, use Techstream to generate a control command, and then check that the master warning light turns on/off.
Combination meter:
COMBINATION METER ACTIVE TEST REFERENCETester Display Test Part Control Range Diagnostic Note Master Warning Master warning light OFF / ON Confirm that the vehicle is stopped and engine is idling OK: Indicator light turns on / turns off.
NG: REPLACE COMBINATION METER (See REMOVAL )
OK: Go to next step
- Select the Active Test, use Techstream to generate a control command, and then check that the master warning light turns on/off.
- CHECK DTC (ELECTRONICALLY CONTROLLED BRAKE SYSTEM)
- Check for DTCs in the electronically controlled brake system (see
DTC CHECK / CLEAR
).
Result

NG: GO TO ELECTRONICALLY CONTROLLED BRAKE SYSTEM (See DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART )
OK: REPLACE STEERING CONTROL ECU (See REMOVAL )
