Inspection Procedure

NOTE: Before performing the inspection, check that there are no problems related to the "CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM" and "LIN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM".
  1. CHECK POWER DOOR LOCK OPERATION 
    1. When the master switch's door control switch is operated, check that the locked doors unlock (see OPERATION CHECK  )

      OK: Locked doors unlock. 

    NG: GO TO POWER DOOR LOCK CONTROL SYSTEM 

    OK: Go to next Step 

  2. READ VALUE USING INTELLIGENT TESTER OR TECHSTREAM 
    1. Using the intelligent tester or Techstream, read the Data List (see DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST  ).
      1. Intelligent tester

  3. CHECK WAVE ENVIRONMENT 
    1. Bring the electrical key transmitter near the rear door outside handle RH, and perform a rear right door entry lock and unlock operation check.
      NOTE: If the key is brought within 0.2 m (0.656 ft.) of the door handle, communication is not possible.

      HINT:

      • When the electrical key transmitter is brought near the rear right passenger door outside handle, the possibility of wave interference decreases, and it can be determined if wave interference is causing the problem symptom
      • If the inspection result is that the operation check is normal, the possibility of wave interference is high Also, added vehicle components may cause wave interference. If installed, remove them and perform the operation check

      OK: Entry functions operate normally. 

    NG: Go to step 4 

    OK: AFFECTED BY WAVE INTERFERENCE 

  4. KEY DIAGNOSTIC MODE 
    1. Diagnostic mode inspection door electrical key oscillator
      1. Connect the intelligent tester or Techstream to the DLC3.
      2. Turn the power switch ON (IG).
      3. Turn the tester on
      4. Enter the following menus
        1. Intelligent tester - Select. DIAGNOSIS / OBD/MOBD / SMART ACCESS / ID UTILITY / SMART DIAGMODE / DR + OVERHEAD
        2. Techstream - Select Body Electrical/ Smart Access / Smart Communication Check / Overhead + Driver Side Rear

      5. When the electrical key transmitter is in the position shown in the illustration, check that the wireless door lock buzzer sounds.

        HINT:

        If the buzzer sounds, it can be determined that the rear right seat outside transmitter is operating normally

        OK: Wireless door lock buzzer sounds 

    NG: Go to step 5 

    OK: END (CERTIFICATION ECU IS DEFECTIVE) 

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (REAR DOOR ECU RH - CERTIFICATION ECU)

    1. Disconnect the O3 ECU connector.
    2. Disconnect the L16 ECU connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance 

      TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION CHART

      Tester connection Condition Specified Condition
      O3-7 (CLGI) - L16-10 (CLG4) Always Below 1 Ω
      O3-17 (CGBI) - L16-11 (CG4B) Always Below 1 Ω

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next Step 

  6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (REAR DOOR ECU RH - ELECTRICAL KEY OSCILLATOR)

    1. Disconnect the O4 ECU connector.
    2. Disconnect the c2 oscillator connector
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance 

      TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION CHART

      O4-26 (CGBO) - C2-10 (CLG) Always Below 1 Ω
      O4-17 (CLGO) - c2-5 (CLGB) Always Below 1 Ω

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next Step 

  7. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (CERTIFICATION ECU - DOOR ELECTRICAL KEY OSCILLATOR)

    1. Disconnect the L16 ECU connector.
    2. Disconnect the c2 oscillator connector
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance 

      TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION CHART

      L16-11 (CG4B) - C2-5 (CLGB) Always Below 1 Ω
      L16-10 (CLG4) - c2-10 (CLG) Always Below 1 Ω

      C2-10 (CLG) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG: REPLACE REAR DOOR ECU RH  (See REMOVAL )

    OK: Go to next Step 

  8. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (REAR DOOR ECU RH - DOOR ELECTRICAL KEY OSCILLATOR)

    1. Disconnect the O3 ECU connector.
    2. Disconnect the c2 oscillator connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance 

      TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION CHART

      O3-16 (SEL) - c2-4 (SEL) Always Below 1 Ω
      c2-4 (SEL) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next Step 

  9. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (DOOR ELECTRICAL KEY OSCILLATOR - REAR DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE RH)

    1. Disconnect the c2 oscillator connector
    2. Disconnect the c1 handle connector
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below

      Standard resistance 

      TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION CHART

      c2-3 (ANT5) - c1-5 (ANT5) Always Below 1 Ω
      c2-8 (ANT6) - c1-2 (ANT6) Always Below 1 Ω

      c2-8 (ANT6) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next Step 

  10. CHECK DOOR ELECTRICAL KEY OSCILLATOR (OPERATION) 
    1. Replace the door electrical key oscillator with a new one or normally functioning one (see REAR DOOR ).
    2. Check that the entry function operates normally (see OPERATION CHECK  ).

      OK: Operates normally 

    NG: Go to step 11 

    OK: END (DOOR ELECTRICAL KEY OSCILLATOR IS DEFECTIVE) 

  11. CHECK REAR DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE RH (OPERATION) 
    1. Replace the rear door outside handle RH with a new one or normally functioning one (see REMOVAL  )
    2. Check that the entry function operates normally (see OPERATION CHECK  )

      OK: Operates normally 

    NG: Go to step 12 

    OK: END (REAR DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE RH IS DEFECTIVE) 

  12. CHECK REAR DOOR ECU RH (OPERATION) 
    1. Replace the rear door ECU RH with a new one or normally functioning one (see REAR DOOR )
    2. Check that the entry function operates normally (see OPERATION CHECK  )

      OK: Operates normally 

    NG: REPLACE CERTIFICATION ECU  (See REMOVAL )

    OK: END (REAR DOOR ECU RH IS DEFECTIVE) 

  13. CHECK REAR DOOR ECU RH

    1. Measure the voltage according to the value (s) in the table below.

      Standard voltage 

      VOLTAGE SPECIFICATION

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      O3-12 (OSCB) - O3-15 (OSCE) Always 11 to 14 V

    NG: REPLACE REAR DOOR ECU RH  (See REMOVAL )

    OK: Go to next Step 

  14. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (REAR DOOR ECU RH - DOOR ELECTRICAL KEY OSCILLATOR)

    1. Disconnect the O3 ECU connector.
    2. Disconnect the c2 oscillator connector
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below

      Standard resistance

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next Step 

  15. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (DOOR ELECTRICAL KEY OSCILLATOR - REAR DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE RH)

    1. Disconnect the c2 oscillator connector
    2. Disconnect the c1 handle connector
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below

      Standard resistance

      c2-2 (SGT6) - c1-6 (SGT5) Always Below 1 Ω

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next Step 

  16. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (REAR DOOR ECU RH - REAR DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE RH)

    1. Disconnect the O3 ECU connector.
    2. Disconnect the c1 handle connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below

      Standard resistance 

      TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION CHART

      O3-20 (TRG+) - c1-3 (TRG+) Always Below 1 Ω
      c1-3 (TRG+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next Step 

  17. CHECK DOOR ELECTRICAL KEY OSCILLATOR (OPERATION) 
    1. Replace the door electrical key oscillator with a new one or normally functioning one (see REAR DOOR )
    2. Check that the entry function operates normally (see OPERATION CHECK  )

      OK: Operates normally 

    NG: Go to step 18 

    OK: END (DOOR ELECTRICAL KEY OSCILLATOR IS DEFECTIVE) 

  18. CHECK REAR DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE RH (OPERATION) 
    1. Replace the rear door outside handle RH with a new one or normally functioning one (see REMOVAL  )
    2. Check that the entry function operates normally (see OPERATION CHECK  )

      OK: Operates normally 

    NG: REPLACE REAR DOOR ECU RH  (See REMOVAL )

    OK: END (REAR DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE RH IS DEFECTIVE)
