Vane Pump: Removal

  1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
    NOTE: w/ Navigation System:
    After the engine switch is turned off, the HDD navigation system requires approximately 6 minutes to record various types of memory and settings. As a result, after turning the engine switch off, wait 6 minutes or more before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
  2. REMOVE FRONT WHEEL RH 
  3. REMOVE FRONT FENDER APRON SEAL FRONT RH  (See REMOVAL )
  4. REMOVE V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY  (See REMOVAL )
  5. REMOVE AIR CLEANER HOSE ASSEMBLY  (See REMOVAL )
  6. REMOVE AIR CLEANER ASSEMBLY  (See REMOVAL )
  7. REMOVE FAN AND GENERATOR V BELT  (See REMOVAL )
  8. DRAIN POWER STEERING FLUID 
  9. DISCONNECT SUCTION HOSE 
    1. Slide the clip and disconnect the suction hose from the vane pump.

  10. DISCONNECT POWER STEERING OIL PRESSURE SENSOR CONNECTOR 
    1. Detach the wire harness clamp and disconnect the connector.

  11. DISCONNECT PRESSURE FEED TUBE 
    1. Remove the bolt and disconnect the pressure feed tube.
    2. Remove the gasket.

  12. REMOVE VANE PUMP ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the 2 bolts and vane pump.
