Steering Control Ecu: Removal

  1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
    NOTE: w/Navigation System:
    After the engine switch is turned off, the navigation system requires approximately 90 seconds to record various types of memory and settings. As a result, after turning the engine switch off, wait 90 seconds or more before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
  2. REMOVE LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL PAD SUB-ASSEMBLY LH  (See REMOVAL )
  3. REMOVE INNER NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL BRACKET COVER LH  (See REMOVAL )
  4. REMOVE INSTRUMENT SIDE PANEL LH  (See REMOVAL )
  5. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH  (See REMOVAL )
  6. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY  (See REMOVAL )
  7. REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM BOARD LH  (See REMOVAL )
  8. REMOVE LOWER NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL  (See REMOVAL )
  9. REMOVE NO. 1 SWITCH HOLE BASE  (See REMOVAL )
  10. REMOVE DRIVER SIDE KNEE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY  (See REMOVAL )
  11. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL BOX ASSEMBLY  (See REMOVAL )
  12. REMOVE STEERING CONTROL ECU WITH JUNCTION BLOCK 
    1. Rear Side:
      1. Disconnect the 7 connectors.
      2. Detach the 2 clamps.
      3. Remove the bolt and 2 nuts.
    2. Front Side:
      1. Disconnect the 5 connectors.
    3. Remove the ECU with junction block.

  13. REMOVE STEERING CONTROL ECU 
    1. Remove the bolt, nut and ECU from the junction block.
