Center Airbag Sensor Assembly: Installation

CAUTION: Be sure to read the precautionary notices concerning the SRS airbag system before servicing it (see AIRBAG SYSTEM  ).
  1. INSTALL CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY 
    1. Temporarily install the airbag sensor with the 3 bolts.
    2. Tighten the 3 bolts to the specified torque.

      Torque: 20 N*m (204 kgf*cm, 14 ft.*lbf)

      CAUTION:
      • If the airbag sensor has been dropped, or there are any cracks, dents or other defects in the case, bracket or connector, replace it with a new one.
      • When installing the airbag sensor, be careful that the SRS wiring does not interfere with other parts and that it is not pinched between other parts.
    3. Connect the 3 airbag sensor connectors.
    4. Install the 3 clamps to the airbag sensor.
    5. Check that there is no free play.
    6. Check that the waterproof sheet is properly set.

  5. INSTALL CONSOLE BOX CARPET 
  6. INSTALL GLOVE COMPARTMENT DOOR ASSEMBLY (See  INSTALLATION  ) 
  7. INSTALL NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY (See  INSTALLATION  ) 
  8. INSTALL INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY LOWER CENTER 
  9. INSTALL AIR CONDITIONER CONTROL ASSEMBLY (See  INSTALLATION  ) 
  10. INSTALL UPPER CONSOLE PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY (See  INSTALLATION  ) 
  11. INSTALL CONSOLE UPPER PANEL GARNISH REAR (See  INSTALLATION  ) 
  12. INSTALL NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD SUB-ASSEMBLY (See  INSTALLATION  ) 
  13. INSTALL FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM COVER LH 
  14. INSTALL DOOR SCUFF PLATE ASSEMBLY LH (See  INSTALLATION  ) 
  15. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
  16. PERFORM INITIALIZATION 
    1. Perform initialization (see INITIALIZATION ).
      NOTE: Certain systems need to be initialized after disconnecting and reconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
  17. CHECK SRS WARNING LIGHT 
    1. Check the SRS warning light (see DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM  ).
