Rear Airbag Sensor: Installation

CAUTION: Be sure to read the precautionary notices concerning the SRS airbag system before servicing it (see AIRBAG SYSTEM  ).

HINT:

  1. INSTALL REAR AIRBAG SENSOR LH 
    1. Install the sensor with the 3 nuts.

      Torque: 20 N*m (204 kgf*cm, 14 ft.*lbf)

      CAUTION:
      • If the airbag sensor has been dropped, or there are any cracks, dents or other defects in the case, bracket or connector, replace it with a new one.
      • When installing the airbag sensor, be careful that the SRS wiring does not interfere with other parts and that it is not pinched between other parts.
    2. Check that there is no looseness in the installation parts of the airbag sensor,
    3. Connect the sensor connector.

  3. INSTALL DOOR SCUFF PLATE ASSEMBLY LH (See  INSTALLATION  ) 
  4. INSTALL REAR SEATBACK ASSEMBLY (See  DISASSEMBLY  ) 
  5. INSTALL REAR SEAT HEADREST ASSEMBLY (See  DISASSEMBLY  ) 
  6. INSTALL REAR SEAT HEADREST PLATE (See  INSTALLATION  ) 
  7. INSTALL WIND DEFLECTOR BOARD ASSEMBLY (See  INSTALLATION  ) 
  8. INSTALL REAR SEAT HEADREST PLATE COVER (See  INSTALLATION  ) 
  9. INSTALL REAR SEAT CUSHION ASSEMBLY (See  INSTALLATION  ) 
  10. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
  11. PERFORM INITIALIZATION 
    1. Perform initialization (see INITIALIZATION ).
      NOTE: Certain systems need to be initialized after disconnecting and reconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
  12. CHECK SRS WARNING LIGHT 
    1. Check the SRS warning light (see DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM  ).
