Inspection Procedure

  1. CHECK CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM 
    1. Check for the DTC (See DTC CHECK/CLEAR  ).

      Result: 

      RESULT REFERENCE CHART

      Result Proceed to
      CAN communication system DTC is not output A
      CAN communication system DTC is output B

      B: Go to CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM  (See CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM )

      A: Go to Next Step 

  2. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (SPEEDOMETER) 
    1. Operate the Techstream according to the display and select "Active Test".

      OK: 

      Needle indication is normal. 

      Combination Meter: 

      COMBINATION METER REFERENCE CHART

      Tester Display Test Part Control Range
      Speed Meter Operation Speedometer 0, 40, 80, 120,160, 200, 240 or 280

      HINT:

      • Confirm that the vehicle is stopped and engine is idling. It is normal that door will be locked automatically when performing the speedometer Active Test.
      • The displayed value has the same units (km/h, mph) as the main scale of the vehicle's speedometer.
      • The needle position should be within the acceptable tolerance.

        NG: REPLACE NO. 1 METER ECU (See  DISASSEMBLY   ) 

        OK: Go to Next Step 

  3. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (VEHICLE SPEED) 
    1. Operate the Techstream according to the display and select "Data List".

      OK: 

      Vehicle speed displayed on Techstream is almost the same as actual vehicle speed measured using speedometer tester (calibrated chassis dynamometer).

      NG: Go to step 4 

      OK: REPLACE NO. 1 METER ECU (See  DISASSEMBLY   ) 

  4. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (WHEEL SPEED SENSOR) 
    1. Operate the Techstream according to the display and select "Data List".

      OK: 

      Vehicle speed displayed on Techstream is almost the same as actual vehicle speed measured using speedometer tester (calibrated chassis dynamometer). 

      Electric parking brake:
