Rear Sunshade Assembly: Inspection

  1. INSPECT REAR SUNSHADE ASSEMBLY 
    1. Hold the edges of the rear sunshade with your hands, as shown in the illustration.
    2. Apply battery voltage to the rear sunshade motor and check the operation of the rear sunshade.

      OK 

      ITEM SPECIFICATION

      Measurement Condition Specified Condition
      Battery's positive (+) lead to terminal 2 (RSMU) and negative (-) lead to terminal 1 (RSMD) Rear sunshade raises
      Battery's positive (+) lead to terminal 1 (RSMD) and negative (-) lead to terminal 2 (RSMU) Rear sunshade lowers

      HINT:

      To prevent the motor from burning out, stop operation as soon as the rear sunshade is fully raised or lowered.

      CAUTION: Be careful when the rear sunshade raises and lowers. Something could get caught in the rear sunshade and cause an injury.

  2. INSPECT CURTAIN SWITCH ASSEMBLY 
    1. for Fixed Seat Type:

      Remove the curtain switch assembly (see DISASSEMBLY ).

    2. for Power Seat:

      Remove the curtain switch assembly (see DISASSEMBLY ).

    3. Measure the resistance between the terminals when the switch is operated.

      Standard resistance 

      RESISTANCE REFERENCE

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      8 (SW1) - 15 (GND) Rear Side Sunshade Switch ON Below 200 Ω

      If the result is not as specified, replace the curtain switch.

  3. INSPECT INTEGRATION CONTROL AND PANEL ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the integration control and panel assembly (see REMOVAL ).
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance 

      RESISTANCE REFERENCE

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      8 - 12 Rear sunshade switch is pushed Below 200 Ω
      8 - 12 Rear sunshade switch is not pushed 10 kΩ or higher

      If the result is not as specified, replace the integration control and panel.
