Inspection Procedure

  1. CHECK DTC OUTPUT 
    1. Clear the DTCs (see DATA LIST/ACTIVE TEST  ).
    2. Check for DTCs (see DATA LIST/ACTIVE TEST  ).

      Result 

      RESULT REFERENCE

      Result Proceed to
      No DTC is output A
      DTC U1114 is output B
      DTC U1127 is output C

      B: GO TO CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM  (See DTC U1114 LOST COMMUNICATION WITH MAIN SWITCH MODULE )

      C: GO TO LIN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM  (See DTC U1127 LOST COMMUNICATION WITH CENTER CONSOLE SWITCH ECU )

      A: Go to next step 

  2. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (REAR SUNSHADE SWITCH) 
    1. Use the Data List to check if the rear sunshade switch is functioning properly.

      Center Console Switch 

      ITEM/RANGE REFERENCE

      Tester Display Measurement Item/Range (Display) Normal Condition Diagnostic Note
      Rear Shade Switch Rear sunshade switch/ON or OFF ON: Rear sunshade switch is pressed
      OFF: Rear sunshade switch is not pressed
      -

      OK: Rear sunshade raises or lowers. 

      NG: Go to step 3 

      OK: REPLACE NO. 1 CONSOLE SWITCH (See  REMOVAL   ) 

  3. INSPECT NO. 2 CONSOLE SWITCH 
    1. Disconnect the No. 2 console switch connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance 

      RESISTANCE REFERENCE

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      8-12 Rear sunshade switch is pushed Below 200 Ω
      8-12 Rear sunshade switch is not pushed 10 kΩ or higher

      NG: REPLACE NO. 2 CONSOLE SWITCH (See  REMOVAL   ) 

      OK: REPLACE NO. 1 CONSOLE SWITCH (See  REMOVAL   )
