Injector Driver: Removal: Removal

NOTE:

While the battery is connected, even if the power switch is OFF, the brake control system activates when the brake pedal is depressed or the door courtesy switch turns on. Therefore during servicing of the brake system components, do not operate the brake pedal or open/ close the doors while the battery is connected.

  1. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT MAT SUB-ASSEMBLY  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 3
  2. REMOVE BATTERY SERVICE HOLE COVER LH  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 5
  3. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    WARNING:

    Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.

    NOTE:
    • When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected. Refer to INITIALIZATION .
    • After the power switch is turned OFF, the HDD navigation system requires approximately 6 minutes to record various types of memory and settings. As a result, after turning the power switch OFF, wait 6 minutes or more before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
  4. REMOVE BATTERY SERVICE HOLE COVER  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 6
  5. REMOVE SERVICE PLUG GRIP  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 6
  6. REMOVE V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 8
  7. REMOVE AIR CLEANER INLET COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 9
  8. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER LH  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 12
  9. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER RH  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 11
  10. REMOVE NO. 1 AIR CLEANER INLET  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 10
  11. REMOVE INTAKE AIR CONNECTOR PIPE  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 8
  12. REMOVE AIR CLEANER ASSEMBLY LH  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 5
  13. REMOVE AIR CLEANER ASSEMBLY RH  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 6
  14. DISCONNECT NO. 1 MOTOR COOLING PIPE  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 8
  15. REMOVE SKID CONTROL ECU  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 9
  16. DISCONNECT NO. 3 ENGINE ROOM RELAY BLOCK  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 23
  17. DISCONNECT BRAKE FLUID RESERVOIR  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 11
  18. REMOVE SKID CONTROL ECU BRACKET  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 12
  19. REMOVE ENGINE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY LH  See step  39
  20. REMOVE NO. 6 COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY  See step  40
  21. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM ECU COVER  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 8
  22. REMOVE OUTLET ENGINE ROOM ECM DUCT  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 43
  23. DISCONNECT HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 27
  24. DISCONNECT NO. 2 CONNECTOR HOLDER  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 28
  25. DISCONNECT ECM CONNECTOR  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 29
  26. DISCONNECT ENGINE WIRE HARNESS  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 30
  27. REMOVE INJECTOR DRIVER

    1. Disconnect the 8 injector driver connectors.
      1. Disconnect the 6 connectors with wire harness locks and the 2 connectors without wire harness locks from the 2 injector drivers.

        HINT: 

        To release each connector lock, push the claw downward ("Release" in the illustration) and move the lock lever ("Move" in the illustration).

    2. Remove the 2 bolts, 2 nuts and 2 injector drivers with bracket.
      NOTE:

      Be careful not to drop or strike the injector driver.

    3. Remove the 8 nuts and 2 injector drivers from the bracket.
